Job Description

Attention: Adventure-seeking Veterinarians who would like to practice progressive patient care in the Last Frontier - Alaska!

Southside Animal Hospital and Wellness Center is a small animal facility open since 1996 with our newest associate celebrating over 10 years with our team. Together, we provide progressive lifelong patient care along with orthopedic surgery complemented by canine rehabilitation through our on-site Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist.

We are seeking dedicated Veterinarians with strong general medicine skills and soft tissue surgery experience with a goal of acquiring or advancing their orthopedic surgery offerings. We provide care for dogs, cats, and ferrets and are open to expanding care to exotic animals and pocket pets.

Southside Animal Hospital and Wellness Center is a highly collaborative team that works with our clients to ensure that the patient receives prompt and quality care. To foster our high standard of teamwork, our doctors are compensated with a competitive salary and succeed together with a shared quarterly bonus that enables us to focus on our patients and professional growth.

Expected compensation is $100,000-$140,000+ annually. Our contract is both flexible and specific to the candidate and our team will support you with your development by providing complementing benefits: funding for annual continued education events, annual dues and licensing, full health, dental and vision benefits, true paid time off, and 401(k) option with a company match.

Our hospital hosts advanced diagnostics including in-house hematology equipment, digital full body and dental radiology, as well as reinvesting in a new ultrasound machine in the past year. We utilize Cornerstone software and are transitioning to Electronic Medical Records.

Our team is dedicated and tenured and keeps the day drama free. We enjoy holiday potlucks together, as well as team events such as staff picnics and group zoo visits.

Benefit from a 4-day-a-week schedule with no on-call or after-hours requirements, allowing you to explore the great opportunities Alaska has to offer on your time off. Nestled between the ocean and the snow-covered Chugach Mountains, Anchorage is Alaska's largest city, known for its fine dining, local craft breweries, theatres, golf courses, botanical gardens, and festivals. With a small-town feel, Anchorage is home to 120 miles of trail for running/biking/skiing and is a gateway to nearby mountains where you can explore glaciers, kayak, hike, fish, hunt, and enjoy many state parks.
