POSITION TITLE: VETERANS AGENT - GR.9

REGIONAL

NORTH ATTLEBORO / PLAINVILLE / WRENTHAM

FULL-TIME (37 HOURS PER WEEK)

SALARY RANGE- $1297.16 - $1743.29

As an employee of North Attleboro, the Veterans Agent provides advisory and administrative work on behalf of each municipality within a district, providing assistance to veterans, their dependents and beneficiaries regarding available benefits and services and ensures proper record keeping; ensures compliance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 115. The Veterans Agent provides counseling and represents veteran before various local, state, and federal boards and panels; serves as Graves' Registration Officer and Burial Agent within the veteran's service district; interviews applicants and processes applications for benefits; assists with emergency housing for homeless veterans; and other related work as required.

High School diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in social services or a related field preferred; five years of experience in social services or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Veterans status required, as defined by Massachusetts General Laws.
