Our Impact

The Impact team has fundraised $1.7M+ for social causes and organizations like the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Ukrainian Refugees, and COVID-19 relief. With many of our content pieces, we aim to provide our readers with action items, directing hundreds of thousands of petition signatures to important causes such as Act for Antonio, Abortion Access, Justice for George Floyd, and many more.

Job Description
Are you obsessed with TikTok, storytelling through short-form videos, and being on camera? Do you always stay updated on the latest news related to social issues, pop culture, and internet trends? Are you opinionated and unafraid to give hot takes on current discussion topics? If so, this role may be perfect for you.

Impact is looking for a Vertical Video Creator to be the face of our content on platforms like TikTok, IG Reels, and YouTube Shorts. You’ll work closely with the Video Lead and Chief Content Officer (CCO) to brainstorm and execute video content concepts and formats that both entertain and educate our audience.

As the first full-time hire in this role, you will have the unique opportunity to advance within the company as we continue to grow.

You will…

• Serve as the primary creator for Impact’s video content across social platforms 
• Be in the know about everything that goes on in the world of pop culture, social issues, and viral trends, and transform that information into digestible and engaging video content
• Brainstorm and conceptualize video ideas that align with audience interests and current trends
• Script and co-script video content
• Continuously experiment with new content ideas, filming techniques, and storytelling methods to push the boundaries of traditional vertical video content
• Exhibit a captivating on-screen personality that aligns with our brand’s values and resonates with our audience
• Collaborate with the Video Lead and CCO to brainstorm and develop ideas for video series, concepts, formats, and standalone videos

Salary range for this role is $55,000 - $80,000. This is a unique role where we are open to adjusting compensation based on experience, specialized skills, and the ability to take on cross-functional responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have the following in their background…

• 0-3 years of experience as a content creator or similar role where you’ve been on camera
• Proven success in creating highly-viewed vertical video content for social platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, especially as it pertains to social issues and/or pop culture
• Been involved in stan/fandom spaces or are active in niche online communities 
• Strong understanding of the latest pop culture trends and social issue news, and has the ability to turn complex information into compelling narratives and stories
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and take feedback to refine content
• Flexibility to adapt to fast-changing content trends and audience preferences
