Vertical Solutions Marketing Intern

  • Candidates will be expected to work 15-20 hours at our Salem, NH office during the school year and have the ability to work full-time during school breaks.

  • Research industry trend topics and provide lists of references with links to content.

  • Insure that Extreme's vertical social media channels and platforms are up to date and interactive.

  • Support the development of vertically-specific outbound emails and communication campaigns

  • Help design marketing surveys and mold the survey results into blog articles.

  • Compile customer reference sites based on field recommendations, data accessible in Salesforce.com, and through field surveys.

  • Arrange logistics and reviews of customer videos and case studies.

  • Provide social media research, including tracking down contact info and twitter handles for key industry influencers and prospects.

  • Help with vertical marketing collateral, web and digital content.

  • Socialize newly created content internally on company app and platforms.

  • Provide help with marketing metrics, including Google analytics and Marketo analytics.

Skills

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Full competence with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Familiarity with social media, especially Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook.

  • Experience with Google Analytics is a plus, but not required

Please note: It is necessary for this Intern candidate to be in college with a graduation date of 2020 and preferably 2021

Targeted vertical industries for this position include federal government, state & local government, and healthcare. Required: Experience marketing to the government - State, Local, and/or Federal Vertical Solutions Marketing Manager The vertical solutions marketing manager is responsible for driving awareness and lead flow to create pipeline and revenue in targeted vertical industries. This requires a thorough understanding of the industry buyers, their behavior, and channels of communication to reach and influence them. It also requires collaboratively working with product management, product marketing, and field sales teams to drive vertical solution business. Targeted vertical industries for this position include federal government, state & local government, and healthcare. * Identify industry trends and establish thought leadership through media including blogs, industry publications, industry conferences, corporate publications, and social media. * Develop business value-based messaging for network infrastructure and security solutions within the verticals. * Prioritize and create comprehensive sales/marketing tools, including web content, brochures, advertisements, and marketing collateral. * Develop and track social media programs within target vertical markets. * Evangelize and articulate to the marketing groups, sales/channel organization, and customers within these verticals. * Provide analysis and determination of total market potential and implement marketing strategy to optimize short and long-range business performance within targeted vertical industries. * Conduct market surveys and provide analysis to guide product specifications in new product lines. * Build a technology partner ecosystem to support complete solutions within targeted vertical industries. * Ensure new product introductions are properly supported with vertical product promotions, sales literature, and training tools. * Collaborate with sales, product management, and engineering to ensure consistency of messaging. Leadership * Possess strong leadership skills combined with technical capabilities and market/business knowledge to create a customer focused vision for the future. * Must be strategic, innovative, and creative. * Support creation of training materials for the sales force and channel to ensure their on-going ability to sell and support our product lines as well as be able to up-sell and cross-sell related offerings. Ensure the sales team has an effective level of training to keep current with changing technologies and markets in which we participate. Interpersonal * Deliver effective communications to both customers and distributors including product promotion, technical literature, conference participation and other relevant media. * Coordinate with strategic business partners in order to achieve objectives. * Define and communicate market and customer requirements through interaction and influence with project teams, business teams, and other departments to maximize market success. * Monitor competition and market economics and business performance to make recommendations and implementation plans for product and channel strategies to maximize profitability. * Possess solid team skills and be able to deliver and receive constructive criticism. Requirements: * Required: Experience marketing to the government - State, Local, and/or Federal * Excellent writing and communication skills; customer facing. * Possess a good understand of and facility with social media. * Strong problem-solving skills; with an analytical research mindset. * Expertise in developing vertical messaging that connects customer business needs to technology solutions. * Demonstrated success in working with channel sales organizations. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, creative, results-driven environment. * Facility with all aspects of inbound marketing, including marketing analytics. * Bachelor's degree in engineering / marketing, MBA or equivalent desirable. * 5-8+ years of experience in marketing management roles with industry domain expertise. * Industry experience desirable. * Ability and willingness to travel globally. * Understanding of the government purchasing process and certification requirements.
