Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic marketer to assist with the development and execution of marketing plans for FLIR's commercial security division in the US. Based in New Jersey this individual will be responsible for hands-on planning, implementing, and tracking multiple marketing projects. This role provides the opportunity to use creativity and out-of-the-box thinking to develop engaging content while executing new product launches, public relations initiatives, and promotional campaigns that drive demand.

Responsibilities will include copy-writing, collateral development, video-series production, and both print and digital marketing campaign execution. The Vertical Marketing Manager will provide direct support to the sales and product management teams, as well as work closely with FLIR's in-house shared services team and third-party marketing agencies to achieve FLIR's business goals.

Detailed Description:

  • Assist the Vertical Marketing Director of Security in the creation of marketing strategy and budget.

  • Work closely with Enterprise division to develop new collateral and refresh old collateral to align with product release and sales needs.

  • Manage media, creative agency, and public relations spend.

  • Communicate directly with sales and product management to generate accurate core messaging for new product launches and to identify new marketing opportunities.

  • Work closely with Vertical Marketing Director to direct third-party agencies and FLIR's in-house design, demand generation, and social media teams in the execution of effective collateral and promotions.

  • Uphold the value proposition, key selling points and messaging for FLIR's Enterprise Security product portfolio while adhering to FLIR corporate brand standards.

  • Develop marketing content (PowerPoint expert a bonus), evangelize message, and execute on the marketing vision and strategy.

  • Manage content calendar and ensure that complete collateral materials accompany all products, including, web content, literature, presentations, e-blasts, videos, advertisements, PR, etc.

  • Develop and execute demand-generation strategies that enable FLIR to efficiently and consistently deliver engaging content to the market.

  • Assist with development of go-to-market strategies for new technologies and products, while also crafting core messaging and key visuals that communicate customer benefits.

  • Report on progress and challenges, recommend allocation of the marketing budget, measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts and recommend areas of improvement especially in digital marketing, and identify opportunities for optimal exposure.

  • Research industry trends and provides competitive analysis.

Requirements:

  • Minimum education: Bachelor undergrad degree in Marketing, Business or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years in a marketing role working with tech in a B2B environment.

  • Minimum 5 years content development experience with demonstrated ability to compose compelling marketing copy for tech products.

  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use both data and intuition to make informed decisions.

  • Ability to work well under pressure combined with a positive attitude.

  • Digital marketing experience including demand marketing, lead generation, social media content marketing.

  • Experience in Security (software/hardware) needed.

  • Must be available to travel approximately 10-15 business trips per year for tradeshows, seminars, video/photo shoots, customer site visits and internal meetings.

Product line responsibility will include the Indoor LED category and Cinema LED category. This role will report into the Senior Product Marketing Manager of the Smart Signage LED Business. You will be responsible for the product management and planning of Samsung's LED Signage portfolio; focusing on commercial & vertical sales/marketing of indoor Direct View LED display solutions. This position will define market segments, route to market, and go to market strategies. Additionally, you will work closely with marcom and channel marketing team to implement demand generation activities directly from Samsung and thru reseller partners. This position will also define future market opportunities and work with HQ Visual Display Division (Korea) to develop appropriate products and solutions to meet internal revenue targets. The position will be responsible for the launch and life-cycle maintenance of LED product line and act as the primary interface to sales teams to respond to customer needs. Role and Responsibilities Primary Duties & Responsibilities * Product management and planning experience with indoor Direct View LED product segment. * Develop key vertical strategies to address Retail, Corporate, Control room, Large venue, Government, etc. segments * Develop CI (custom install) market approach to reach "High Net Worth Individual" segment of the market * Develop true "End to End" solution capabilities by working closely with Service, Solution Architect and Business Development teams. * Market sensing and Competitive Tracking/Benchmarking * Develops and manages new product launch process, marketing strategies, market research, product requirements, definition of marketing mix, and the establishment of the pricing forecast for sales in close cooperation with Samsung's marketing and sales teams * Develops and executes the annual marketing plan/budget including all marketing communication activities; coordinates and supports local sales & marketing activities, and achieves revenue goals of assigned products/ product line * Work closely with R&D to ensure successful product lifecycle management; travels with the sales force to visit key customers and/or support tradeshow events (~20% travel) * Define products based on target market segments. * Determine price positioning and strategy. Develop market requirements for target segments and work with HQ Visual Display Division to develop appropriate solutions. Determine menu of programs and incentives to ensure product set maintains appropriate market share targets. Guides Marcom team on sales collateral development, tradeshows and PR events * Define competitor models and action plans against those specified models. Review competitor price moves and channel strategy to determine appropriate Samsung positioning * Accurately establishes the pricing forecast for sales in close cooperation with Samsung's marketing unit * Manage all forecasting aspects of the product category by integrating the input from the Sales team and the market conditions. You will contribute to weekly unit forecast plan (AP2) based on analysis of channel inventory, sell-through history, future business pipeline, and competitive activity. You will work closely with Sales Operations staff, assisting in weekly sales forecast and product allocations. Skills and Qualifications * Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels within the SEA organization and within customer organizations. * Bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, business, communications, engineering or technology * Minimum of 7-10 years related experience * Minimum of 5 to 7 years of LED product line experience and professional B2B route to market experience * Experience working with Channel Partners and resellers to drive product through Distribution and/or Reseller partner network. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time, and skilled in working cross-functionally * Skilled in planning, quality focus, customer service, managing processes and strong presentation skills required * The ability to convince others, in a potentially adversarial environment, including customer leadership, VP's, directors & managers, staff, and vendors with opposing views to accept/approve plans, technical, and project recommendations. * The ability to write, read, interpret, and act on provide critical technical review and prepare reports, technical manuals, test procedures and technical product information. * Work under very little supervision and guidance to identify and ensure achievement of production team goals and to complete individual work assignments within established time frames. * The demonstrated ability to solve problems involving highly diverse conditions requiring creativity to search for solutions.
