System Administrator


Vertex Aerospace is seeking an experienced professional to administer a Windows 2008/2012 enterprise infrastructure. This includes the management of physical and virtual servers at multiple locations. Applicant will be responsible for the configuration and maintenance of all aspects of the enterprise including VSphere/ESX, backup solution, MS Exchange, Microsoft O365, Azure, SharePoint administration, management of multiple storage arrays as well as patching and configuration management.


  • Configuring maintaining and monitoring CommVault enterprise backups at multiple locations.

  • Installing, configuring and maintaining Microsoft Windows 2008-2012 servers for both on-site and Azure environments

  • Understand DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP structures

  • Setting NTFS permissions on directory structure.

  • Working on Help Desk support system for Network and server related issues. Working with end users.

  • Administering Active Directory in Premium Azure AD. Automated account creation (PowerShell).

  • Allocating, configuring and monitoring system resources in a multi-node VMWare VSphere cluster.

  • Work after hours on a biweekly basis to support BigFix patching and configuration changes of server

  • Support after hour emergency issues as needed in cases of systems failures

  • Administer and monitor multiple storage arrays. Equallogic experience preferred

  • Working knowledge to support MS Exchange mailboxes and Distribution Lists. (Not responsible for maintaining an Exchange server.)

  • Readily accept responsibility and demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team environment as judged by peers and management

  • Work with other team members and manager to understand & update systems configuration documents and technical specifications, develop and implement test plans and test scripts, and document server changes

  • Providing assistance desktop team in troubleshooting and general support of the user community

  • Provide input for the establishment of system policies and procedures, standards and schedules

Supplemental Functions:

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed

  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings

  • Participate in ongoing training and education

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Available for afterhours IT support as needed

  • Willing to carry company owned mobile phone


  • Degree in Computer Science or related technical field with a minimum of 4-5 years of related experience with an emphasis on Windows Server OS.

  • Command line scripting with Command Shell and/or PowerShell

  • Proficient in the discipline of systems backups and disaster recovery

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to effectively manage time

  • Operational knowledge of helpdesk ticket tracking and configuration management systems

Additional Experience

  • Working knowledge of network technologies and troubleshooting. Cisco experience a plus

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Certificate Authority and certificate issuance.

  • Previous desktop support experience is a plus

Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Vertex is looking to hire a program recruiter for our Madison, MS facility. This is a fast-paced role that will support numerous hiring managers. You will be responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting and play a critical role in ensuring the organization is hiring only the best candidates. Duties and Responsibilities * Manages talent acquisition process with enthusiasm and accuracy from requisition initiation through offer acceptance. * Works with Hiring Managers with each phase and communicates updates. * Processes new requisitions and approvals through Taleo Applicant Tracking System, including obtaining all required approvals. * Recruits for technical and non-technical, temporary and direct-hire employees. * Networks through industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups and employees. * Posts openings internally and externally on company website and other position-appropriate venues. * Reviews applicants to evaluate if they meet the position requirements, forwards qualified candidates to hiring manager and may conduct prescreening interviews. * Schedules and coordinates interviews with all participating interviewers. * Collects candidate feedback and maintains records. * Assists in performing reference checks and initiating background checks and drug screens for potential employees. * Recruits for, tracks and follows up on all temporary and contract employees. * Negotiates offers, relocations, start dates, etc., within approved boundaries. * Coordinates candidate travel, if required. * Compiles data and provides regular reports on status of open positions and recruitment metrics. * Assist with new hire orientation as needed. * Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards. * Other projects and initiatives as assigned. Physical Requirements: Primarily office environment. Must have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. At times, must be able to work in aircraft hangar environment and board / exit aircraft. At times, must be able to climb, bend, kneel, crouch, balance, and stoop. Must be able to walk particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another. Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as typing. Must be able to work at heights, subject to noise, subject to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, work on scaffolding, exposure to heat/cold. Must be able to communicate effectively.
