The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties.   • Responsible for ensuring accuracy of financial reporting in accordance with FAR, CAS, GAAP and company policies

  • Provides leadership and direction to Accounts Payable personnel

  • Planning and reporting of budgets to support program budget/forecast planning

  • Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, review and verify accuracy

  • Develop personnel, short term and annual cost forecast

  • Provide variance/trend analysis

  • Ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures

  • Support proposal development activities

  • Ensure vendor invoices are inspected, verified and processed for payment at due terms and conditions

  • Prepares journal entries

  • Ensures compliance with company and contract Policies and Procedures and the Vertex Aerospace Ethics program.

  • Ensures compliance with the Environmental, Health and Safety program.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, plus 0-2 years' experience in an Accounts Payable process, and experience leading and supervising 2 or more personnel OR Associate's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, plus 4 years 'experience in an Accounts Payable process, and experience leading and supervising 2 or more personnel OR High School Diploma or Equivalent, plus 8 years' experience in an Accounts Payable process, and experience leading and supervising 2 or more personnel.

  • Experienced with CAS, GAAP and the FAR
  • Experience in contracting with the Federal Government is a plus

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:

The following skills and abilities are required:

  • Possesses strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines; multi-task oriented

  • Ability to report cost and forecasts; prepare comparative evaluation of actual cost against budgeted funds and determine rationale for variances between costs and budgets.

  • Prepare regular and special purpose reports; maintain historical records

  • Ability to speak well; have good communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interface with both internal and external customers.

  • Ten key ability

  • SAP experience is a plus.

  • Proficient in MS Office; i.e. Excel, PowerPoint and Word for data compilation/entry and report generation.

In assuming this role, you'll engage customers through knowledgeable interactions, business discussions and educational interactions. You'll leverage your sales and closing skills to strengthen relationships and build customer loyalty by enabling customers to effectively leverage IDEXX's products and services. In helping veterinary practices grow their diagnostic revenue, you'll establish yourself as a valued partner.
