Vertex RASM-E is a diverse program with its headquarters located at Ft. Bragg, NC.
Additional support sites are located on Hunter AAF, Savannah, GA; Ft. Drum, NY; Ft. Belvoir, VA; Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD; and West Point, NY. This position will be at the Savannah, GA location.
Vertex is looking for an individual that is a self-starter, organized and detail oriented. This position requires the individual to work in all weather conditions servicing, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and overhauls aircraft and aircraft systems.
Work hours are Monday-Friday day shift, but can vary due to the mission requirements. This position may need to work weekends and/or holidays as the mission requires. Hours will be set by the unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as rotors heads, swashplates, mechanical flight controls and their components.
Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems.
Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections components.
Performs limited maintenance operations checks and diagnosis and troubleshoots systems using special tools and test equipment as required.
Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment.
Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate problems by interpreting technical documentation such as aircraft Technical manuals, Maintenance Information, Action Messages, and all technical guidance provided through government official representatives.
Receives technical assistance as required from higher-level technician.
EXPERIENCE: UH-60 Mechanic with a minimum of three (3) years' hands on experience.
The technical specialty of this position is for the UH60 aircraft.
Extensive deport level repair experience desired which includes the repair of components, requiring personnel of higher technical skill beyond the organizational level capability.
UH60 RESET experience preferred.
May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty, and dirty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind.
This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions.
May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Operating Procedures Manual. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, where applicable.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Must be highly proficient in duties respective to the position. Must be qualified in all facets of system maintenance and troubleshooting. Current on ARMY flight publications and maintenance techniques preferred.
Valid state driver's license required.
Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).
Must be able to obtain a NACI clearance.
