The Boeing Company is currently seeking a senior level Versatile Technologist to join it's team in Huntsville, Alabama.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Identifies computing requirements and confers on system needs.

  • Performs a multi-disciplined range of technical systems and application activities.

  • Installs, configures and maintains multiplatform systems hardware, software and components.

  • Develops, designs, integrates and maintains all computer applications.

  • Prepares release planning for software and hardware across the system.

  • Ensures system conforms to architectural objectives.

  • Evaluates complex system's production readiness and supportability.

  • Performs the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations.

  • Integrates security solutions into information systems.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Leads the support of multiple customers by gathering requirements and working with teammates to design, implement and maintain complex solutions in secure environments based on company processes and procedures.

  • Contributes to the team as a technology versatilist with advanced knowledge in Windows, LINUX, storage systems, networking and application integration.

  • Develops specific plans, designs, and bill of materials to support the closed areas.

  • Installs, configures and maintains all Unix/Linux based computing servers in the closed and open areas

  • Protects and maintains closed or isolated environments and information through development and administration of an operational security (OPSEC) program and physical controls.

  • Integrates security solutions with contractual requirements into complex information systems, multi-layer security solutions and processes.

  • Interfaces with the appropriate government agencies and customers to interpret security requirements, provide guidance and conduct audits.

  • Investigates, manages and resolves data spills.

  • Develops and maintains portions of the Systems Security Plan (SSP) and Access Control Plan (ACP).

  • Maintains knowledge of various government and corporate security policies and plans.

  • Monitors and performs routine to complex administrative functions to maintain and enhance computing delivery system management tools for hardware, software, network and operating systems using standard tools and business processes.

  • Evaluates the readiness and supportability of routine to complex computer delivery systems components and their compliance with design, build, test and release using standard tools and business processes.

  • Evaluates and certifies computing delivery systems components to ensure reliability, integrity and compliance with architectural objectives using standard tools and business processes.

Basic (Required) Qualifications:

  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in troubleshooting complex hardware/software systems

  • Experience with Operational Security and Information Protection

  • JAVA / Cyber Task Order remediation, Data at Rest Encryption technologies

  • Experience with project management principles; assign and work tasks to support multiple projects

  • Red Hat Package Management development, SELinux, Power Broker for Unix/Linux

  • Additional certifications In Red Hat, Cisco, or Microsoft

  • Other scripting and programming knowledge is a plus (Bash, Python, and Perl)

  • Experience with iSCSI RAID Arrays, NETAPP, EMC storage units, ZFS, GFS, BTRFS, CIFS, SMB

  • Knowledgeable in Ansible, GIT, kickstart, Cobbler

  • Experience with server virtualization techniques, specifically related to VMware ESXi

  • Administration experience with Microsoft Servers (i.e. Domain Controller, Group Policy Management, DNS and WSUS)

Typical Education/Experience:

Technical bachelor's degree and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 7 or more years' or a PhD degree with typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.

The Information System Security Officer (ISSO) designs, develops, and recommends integrated security solutions for multiple classified systems/projects. The successful candidate will analyze and coordinate information assurance requirements for networked and standalone systems within environments of varying complexity levels. They will also be responsible for creating and maintaining certification and accreditation documentation. The ISSO will design, develop, and recommend security solutions for platforms with various operating systems. Successful candidates will ensure system security measures comply with multiple regulatory requirements (e.g. NISPOM, JAFAN, DCID/ICD 503, DoD RMF), and accurately assess the impact of modifications, changes, and vulnerabilities for each system where needed. They will coordinate their duties with selected Security, Information Technology, and Project Managers on a regular basis. The ISSO will conduct reviews and technical inspections (as prescribed by the ISSM) to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses, and ensure that all security features applied to a system are implemented and functional. They will also create and maintain all information assurance documentation (e.g. SSPs, Security Profiles, approvals, etc.) for their assigned areas. Additional duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Participates in interdepartmental projects and provides leadership as necessary. Trains and mentors novice and intermediate ISSOs, and provides performance input to managers. Interfaces with internal and external Security personnel, customers, management, and U.S. Government representatives where required. Performs other IA-related duties as assigned by management on an "as required" basis. Travel as needed to other business locations to provide necessary cyber security support.
