The Verification Specialist provides administrative support services to our Non-Criminal Verifications Unit and is located in our Bolingbrook, IL office. This job function is repetitive in nature and relies on sending outbound communications in order to obtain verification on all non-criminal related background elements. Elemental data consists of employment history, professional licensures, educational degrees, DOT compliance and rental history.

This position is highly detail oriented and requires proficient time management. There is daily interaction with private and public employers, licensing agencies, educational institutions, as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Good judgment is required to prioritize and organize the workload. A key role in this position will be to work as part of the team, while accurately and efficiently processing incoming verification requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn and operate under specific client Standards of Operations (SOPs) to complete each verification element.

  • Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources in order to verify a specific element. This may require contacting applicants and/or clients to request additional information in order to verify an element.

  • Research and verify contact information listed within an element to ensure validity of these sources.

  • Communicate and respond with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged by telephone, by email, letter or fax.

  • Document all elemental interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, comments, as well as actions taken.

  • Refer discrepancies or unverified information to designated departments for further investigation.

  • Meet and maintain departmental performance goals of daily number of touches and number of completed verifications.

The Global Mobility Specialist role helps support this mission statement at both a team and a regional level. Providing support and advice to both the assignee and the business this role is key to the coordination of Global Mobility activities within the region and across ABB. Reporting to the Global Mobility Manager for the Region, the Global Mobility Specialist role helps manage international assignments and support the Global Mobility strategy within the region: acting as a single point of contact case manager for assignees and the business, this role will provide high-level support and advice in all areas of assignment management. Your responsibilities Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Manage the assignment process for a wide population of assignees in-line with ABB's Global Mobility policies and philosophy. * Act as a case manager who is the single point of contact for the assignee and family to provide advice in the end-to-end management of their individual assignment within the ABB Group. * Brief assignees on the conditions of the assignment package and provide support on understanding of the terms of the mobility policy and any related benefits. * Provide advice, guidance and support to the assignee on all matters relating to their tax, immigration and legal requirements in respect to the assignment. Assignee has the information on who to contact etc. * Liaises with HR Business partner and relevant business line to coordinate assignment move process. * Ensure that global SSCs produces all assignment related paperwork and support documentation. * Ensure that third party providers are instructed by SSC to the assignment process; this could include suppliers for: tax; immigration; destination services; cultural training and move services. * Support counter-parts in the Global Mobility Function worldwide in managing assignments. * Facilitation assignment life cycle. * Working with Regional Mobility Manager and Key Account Managers to provide updates on assignment status. Your background Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and Minimum of 4 years of related experience, preferably with experience in managing global mobility matters. Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to manage personal workload and support others where necessary. * Good IT skills and the ability to manipulate data to report on trends and common themes. * Should be comfortable working within an international environment and across diverse cultures. * Excellent communication skills and a confident manner. * Good organizational, planning and decision making skills. * Delivery focused and able to work to tight deadlines. * Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. * Fluent in spoken and written English; additional languages preferable.
