We are looking for an energetic go-getter to help us identify and recruit amazing entrepreneurs to become members of the MATTER community and then help them succeed. The venture acceleration associate will manage the end-to-end process of membership recruitment, selection, onboarding and experience. The associate will interact directly with entrepreneurs, investors, physicians, scientists and industry executives across the healthcare ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will enjoy a fast-paced environment and varied workday, and should have a passion for entrepreneurship, healthcare innovation and communications. They will design and implement our organizational sales and recruitment strategy to entrepreneurs, develop realistic forecasts to drive membership growth and continuously iterate on our teams member recruitment and sales approach. They will be instrumental in overseeing lead generation, closing membership deals and driving community engagement for all MATTER members.

If you were the venture acceleration associate, here are some things you might have done this week:

  • Interview healthcare entrepreneurs interested in joining MATTER and share our offerings
  • Set vision and recruitment strategy to grow our entrepreneur membership base
  • Complete technology and use-case scans to identify new startups for proactive recruitment
  • Track sales team metrics and report data to leadership on regular basis
  • Develop and execute plans to increase member engagement in Chicago and beyond
  • Interact with startup founders, industry executives, physician leaders and subject matter experts

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end process from membership lead generation through to conversion
  • Establish proactive member recruitment outreach strategy in defined use cases
  • Identify, target and contact prospective member companies
  • Ensure utilization of Salesforce for managing all lead generation and conversion
  • Respond to and process all applications from entrepreneurs to join our member community
  • Develop sales forecast and track lead and lag performance metrics for membership sales
  • Develop and execute plans to increase member engagement in our Chicago space and beyond
  • Provide input on identification of relevant healthcare and life sciences industry forums, and attend to drive potential membership pipeline


  • Bachelors degree in business studies, marketing, communications, finance or healthcare-related fields
  • 1-3 years experience in sales or related field a plus
  • Proven interest in, and foundational understanding of, healthcare and life sciences
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with strong follow-through and ability to meet deadlines
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus

As a Time Zone Azure Data & AI Customer Success Acceleration Lead within the Azure Data and AI Solution Area of the Customer Success Unit in Microsoft's Worldwide Commercial Business organization, you will oversee field/partner engagement and execution for customer success and consumption acceleration related to Azure Data & AI workloads. The role will entail executing on global programs that drive adoption of these services within Enterprise customer accounts, which will span multiple industries. It will also entail interfacing with the field community of professionals within Time Zone - CSU Regional Business Lead, Azure Data & AI CSU Manager of Managers(M2), CSA Managers, Cloud Solution Architects (CSAs), and associated roles including Customer Engineering & Architecture Teams, Azure Solutions Specialists, Microsoft Consulting Services teams, Partner Development Managers and Microsoft Partners delivery teams. This role requires a self-driven professional who thrives on new challenges to grow the Azure Data & AI business and cherishes achieving business impact with minimal observation once trained and equipped. Demonstration of strong skills in adaptive leadership, cross-organizational collaboration, ability to drive impact through influence, relationship building and executive engagement skills is highly desired.
