JobSummary:

The Vendor Quality Manager mainresponsibilities are the Food Safety programs of all Fuji Plants and Suppliers,Quality Assurance (QA) programs, and bioterrorism. The Vendor Quality Manager isalso responsible for third party audits of both Fuji and supplier plants, andall Quality parameters for incoming ingredients. The Manager of Vendor QTY FoodSafety will be working closely with all plants, QA Managers, Production, and

Purchasing Department.

Minimum Requirements:

Education-

  • Bachelor's Degree Required. Bachelor of Science(BS) degree in sciences.

Training & Experience-

  • Must have at least 5 years ofexperience in food industry or advanced degrees in natural sciences.

  • Food Safety experience and HACCP a MUST.

  • GFSI experience is a must.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities-

  • Ability to read and communicate verballyin English required.

  • Ability to communicate verbally inSpanish helpful.

  • Competence of Microsoft Word, Excel and

PowerPoint.

  • Professional level writing and verbalcommunication skills.

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills andprofessional demeanor, with an ability to interact with employees and others atany level within an organization.

  • Ability to handle sensitive andconfidential information with extreme professionalism

  • Ability to learn and apply departmentalor Company policies, procedures and rules.

  • Ability to learn and apply Federal,State, and local laws, codes and regulations pertaining to human resources.

  • Ability to work independently in theabsence of supervision.

  • Ability to work independently and withina team.

  • Ability to establish and maintainco-operative working relationships with employees, managers, Companyleadership, vendors and medical providers.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for corporate HACCP development, implementation, monitoring, reviewing, training and documentation

  • Ensure all company manufacturing facilities and co-packers follow standard procedures and compliance with Food Safety and conduct investigation as required.

  • Responsible for vendor Quality Assurance, New Vendor Qualification, Raw Materials Evaluation and Incoming Raw product Quality Inspection.

  • Responsible for all third party Audits including assisting Plant Quality Supervisors with governmental and independent Agencies.

  • Develop Programs, Policies and Procedures on food Safety.

  • Oversee and gathers required paperwork, forms from receiving QA Technicians

  • Perform special projects such as shelf-life studies, training in QA /QC departments.

  • Travel to other company facilities, co-packers to accomplish food safety and Quality requirements for Fuji food Inc. (34% - 66%)

  • Perform other duties as required.

Responsibilities * Manages West Coast (WC) operations to maximize accuracy, utilization, visibility, and cost avoidance * Develops and maintains procedures and methods to ensure efficient and compliant shipments of receiving, storing, and shipping of orders * Oversees dray operations of all WC drayage * Optimizes transportation solutions and oversee carrier and service provider operations * Develops and manages SOP's and service standards; including drayage, cross dock, delayed cross dock (metering), and pool point and store shipments * Develops and manages reporting of key performance indicators to reduce costs and beat or meet budget * Manages process to audit and approves invoices for accuracy and possible vendor chargebacks * Works with all vendors on the Kirkland's import process and provides training as necessary * Develops contingency plan for all WC operations * Supports other supply chain initiatives * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications * Bachelor's degree * 5 or more years' of experience in Ocean importing (transloading background a plus) * Must be detail oriented, respond to rapidly changing priorities, deal with multiple demands, good organizational and follow up skills, strong analytical aptitude * Great communicator verbally and in writing to be able to communicate and interact with people at all levels internally and externally * Practical working knowledge of importing industry * Use sound judgment and good decisions making regarding routing, cost, and service level * Proficient use of PC including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint * Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time * Ability to lift up to 35 lbsAbility to travel up to 50% as needed Options Kirklands Santa Fe Springs CA
