We are looking for a talented mechanical Vehicle Technician, II who will use your skills to set up, conduct, and assist in the analysis of a vehicle test to ensure data meets design specifications established by Customers. This role will support engineers to determine the practicality of proposed product design changes and carry out tests for performance, durability, or efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
Knowledge of basics of Passenger Car, Light Truck and Commercial Vehicle brake systems
Fit and function incoming parts on a Vehicle
Understanding of physical measurements of test components (rotors & brake pads)
Startup of Data Acquisition equipment including 3802 & VMAX
Install and troubleshoot Data Acquisition equipment, basic sensors, and thermocouples on a vehicle
Knowledge of different pressure transducers
Measure rotor LRO / DTV & understand LRO / DTV basics
Read rotor mapping plots
Monitor tests in progress to ensure they are running to specification
Ensure test results are complete and accurate
Perform test activities and question specifications for new tests
Perform manual trigger stops for testing operation
Diagnosis of instrumentation issues such as Torque Wheels, Dump Valves, DC Tachs, etc.
Proper usage of rubbing and embedded TC's
Ensure work is performed in a safe manner using all available safety equipment
All other related duties as assigned
Possess mental faculties consistent with performing the minimum requirements of the job

Qualifications:
Associate of Science in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in automotive testing or equivalent related work experience
Completed coursework in digital electronics, circuit functions and basic electronics preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Understanding of basic and analog & temperate data preferred
Use and review RevData Plus
Use LINK data and Customer-based Excel formulas
Ability to understand priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to bring projects to completion in a timely and efficient manner
Ability to work well in a Team environment
Technical aptitude to form hypothesis, verify test methods, draw conclusions, and communicate results effectively
Applicable verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Applicable organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Hands-on problem solving and continuous improvement
Ability to us a computer
Physical Requirements:
This position is located in a testing environment and will involve hands-on work. Physical activity will include lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity or standing for long periods of time.
Ability to speak verbally, and read in English
Ability to see with corrective lenses
Ability to hear
Ability to walk
Ability to travel up to 10% domestically
Must be willing to work overtime as required to facilitate testing needs and customer timelines
