Vehicle Systems Engineer - Endicott, NY

Job Description

  • Develop requirements and vehicle system architectures for hybrid propulsion systems

  • Develop and verify CLAWs (Control Law computations)

  • Perform hardware, software, firmware and CAN J1939 system-level integration, verification and validation in a lab environment or on vehicle

  • Engage in diagnostics procedures for prototype and in-service hybrid propulsion system and vehicle-level subsystems

  • Coordinate and communicate activities with Hardware and Software Development Teams to facilitate installation and address vehicle systems issues

  • Coordinate with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to address project development needs. Develop and manage system-level requirements and system architectures

  • Work occasionally in uncomfortable environments such as audibly loud engine environment, cold and hot ambient temperatures, confined spaces, and work in safety fall protection harness on vehicles approximately 12' above the ground

  • Lead small groups and teams

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Software Engineering and 6 years of work experience

  • Experience in vehicle or electronic control related development including familiarity with SAE J1939 interfaces and CAN communication

  • Experience in full lifecycle system development including requirements, design, integration, verification and validation

  • Technical writing skills: capable of creating required engineering documentation

  • Experience in integration and verification testing of both electrical/mechanical equipment and software

  • Demonstrated experience providing technical leadership to engineering teams

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Working knowledge of high-order programming languages (C++) and Matlab Simulink

  • Working knowledge of Control Law development and verification

  • Experience with requirements management (DOORS)

  • Experience with configuration management (Synergy)

  • Familiarity with Agile software or hardware development teams

  • Experience with vehicle in service diagnostics procedures

  • Experience with hybrid propulsion systems

Responsibilities * Presents the Company's value proposition to clients concerning various company products and services and uses prescribed selling techniques. • Conducts a thorough in-person interview with potential clients, using the company's propriety tax software application. Delivers exceptional customer service by anticipating customer needs and considers the impact of all decisions/actions on the customer. • Answering client calls via our national call center routing system. • Completes all related tax forms in accordance with policies, and in compliance with legislation and regulations. Furnishes taxpayers with sufficient information and advice to ensure correct tax form completion. • Consults tax law reference materials to determine procedures for preparation of atypical returns. • Answers questions and provide future tax planning to clients. • Reviews financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare tax returns. • Researches tax related questions and issues, and responds to clients appropriately and within a timely manner. • Resolves client complaints, or refers situations to supervisor (as appropriate) for resolution • Audits all tax return forms for accuracy and completeness (i.e., client signatures).
