Vehicle Management System Engineer

The Vehicle Management System Engineer works at Bell Helicopter's headquarters facility in Ft. Worth, TX, and will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following:

  • Integrate avionics and mission systems into aircraft

  • Integrate DoD communications and data link equipment

  • Interpret equipment Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

  • Plan and perform test and verification activities including: system performance, environmental qualification, safety, and production functional tests

  • Work with current generation primary electronic flight display systems and aircraft standard ARINC/DoD interfaces:

  • Mode 5 Interrogator, Friend or Foe (IFF)

  • Mode S Transponders

  • Automatic Dependence Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B)

  • Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS)

  • Cockpit Voice and Flight Data Recorders (CVR/FDR)

  • Global Position System (GPS) & Inertial Navigation System (INS)

  • Controller/Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC)

  • SATCOM Voice and Data Link Communications

  • VHF Data Link (VDL) Mode 2

  • Flight Management Systems (FMS)

  • Digital and Analog Autopilots Systems

  • WAAS/LPV

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree isrequired.

  • Major in, Electrical Engineering, ComputerEngineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree inPhysics, Electrical, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering will be consideredwith sufficient software development experience.

  • Master's Degree in the

Engineering disciplines mentioned above is preferred.

Position Requirements:

  • Requires minimum 3 years of experience in subject matter technical areas.

  • Requires subject mattertechnical expertise, technical leadership, and experience on multipleengineering projects.

  • Abilityto understand, develop and implement complex algorithms and software projectsis required.

  • Excellentskills in scripting/programming: Python, C/C

  • Experiencewith Linux operating systems and shell

  • Excellenttheoretical background in machine learning and data mining

  • Practicalexperience with different learning frameworks, e.g. caffe, tensorflow

  • Requiredto obtain and hold a Secret level security clearance.
