Secret Job Description: The SOB Maintenance Trainer/ Mentor will TAAM (Train, Advise, Assist, and Mentor) counterparts at various locations in Afghanistan in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance Operations.
They will advise the SOB Maintenance Personnel in all aspects of maintenance procedures for vehicles within the organization.
The mentor will coordinate with the ANASOC Corps.
Maintenance Mentor to insure requisite classes of supply are provided to maximize vehicle availability to support the SOBs mission.
The mentor will directly work with and Advise the SOB/SOK maintenance personnel on International 7 Ton Series Vehicles (MTV) i.e.
MR-30 Recovery Vehicle, Fuel/ Water/ Cargo/ Troop Vehicles, M915/916 Tractors, M873 and M870 Series Trailers, M970 fuel tankers, Up Armored HMMWV (UAH), 10K Atlas Forklift, Ford Ranger (LTV), and the Armored Security Vehicle (ASV/ MSFV) and other assigned vehicles IAW the Afghanistan Tashkil.
The mentor has an expeditionary role and will perform ETAA missions to include the following: Monitor, direct and/or actively assists in partnered force training and as needed.
Creating, maintaining and delivering to the Team Leader and Deputy Program Manager all required reports.
Provide to the Team Leader and Deputy Program Manager all required data/information for monthly performance review and training reports.
Required Hours:
Standard will be 6 days/wk for up to 10 hrs/day while OCONUS and 40 hrs/wk while CONUS

Responsibilities:
Train Afghan counterparts on Vehicle Maintenance and Shop Management procedures, reports, vehicle status tracking, reporting, service scheduling and repair.
TAAM counterparts on Maintenance file management; publication management; supply management; maintenance work flow management; physical security and key control Shop safety, accident avoidance, safety awareness concepts; safety rules; safe use of cleaning products; safe use of power tools; shop safety and maintenance discipline; tools and shop equipment; proper handling, use, and care of tools; inventory and shop management; maintenance management system; Establish and maintain POL and PLL stocking list; establish and maintain parts room; the importance of inventory PLL parts; schedule services process; troubleshooting procedures IAW Technical Manuals Responsible to provided training on the various vehicle unit types to include the following lessons:
General Shop Tool & Equipment Service ability & Accountability Maintenance Management Procedures Technical Vehicle Serviceability inspections Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services Engine Cooling systems Vehicle Heater and Air Conditioning systems Fuel systems Air systems Brake systems Electrical systems Suspension and steering Wheels and tires Responsible for training master instructors per vehicle manufacturer specifications and/or component/subsystem manufacturer specifications including but not limited to: Hydraulics Engines and Power trains Crane Systems Diagnostic Computer Systems

Required Qualifications:
4+ years experience in Wheeled Vehicle Maintenance.
Be familiar with either the Afghan or US military vehicle maintenance operations, i.e.
MOS 63 or 91B or equivalent school certifications is desired.
Must be familiarized in or be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance management.
Must have the ability to develop training support materials, including:
Program of Instructions (POIs) and/or modification to existing programs of instructions, lesson plans, training support packages, and training aids.
Experience conducting hands-on training in a classroom setting.
Be able to function as part of a training team at the highest levels in a multi-national environment.
Must be adhere to all established vehicle maintenance safety policies and standards to include identification, use, and proper procedures for handling or disposal of hazardous waste.
Competent with operating Personal Computer Skills & Microsoft Office Excellent Leadership, Organizational & Project Management Skills Must have excellent Oral, Written and Interpersonal Communication Skills.
Must possess a US Passport with at least 6 months of remaining eligibility Must be able to obtain an Afghanistan Visa This position requires a U.S.
Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization Must have an active or current DoD Secret Clearance Physical Requirements/Working Environment Include but are not limited to the wear of body armor and helmet Personal Protective Gear, unassisted lifting and carrying of duffle bags not exceed the weight of 70 lbs per piece, and the unassisted movement over uneven terrain.
Must be willing to work and live in Afghanistan with an understanding that there could be further assignments to any location in Afghanistan based upon the needs of the U.S.
Government, to include hostile and austere areas.
Must be able to attend and pass USG deployment requirements at CONUS Replacement Center (CRC), Fort Bliss, Texas or equivalent location.
Must meet the medical requirements for the position being offered as determined by a pre-employment medical screening and in accordance with published CRC and USCENTCOM medical deployment standards.
Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs.
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders.
Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
Employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.
May be exposed to extreme noise from aircraft, hostile fire, and other acts of aggression associated with this region.
Contractor personnel shall comply with all theater command policies, regulations, and General Orders.
All tours are unaccompanied

Desired Qualifications:
Previous Afghanistan experience training and advising foreign military soldiers.
Experience with Defense Contracting, ITAR, and Import/Export Regulations.
Prior training experience in a multi-cultural environment with use of local national interpreters.
Prior U.S.
military service; with the rank of SFC (E-7) or higher.
MSFV/ASV Mechanics qualification preferred.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree from accredited school & four (4) years of related experience, OR two (2) years related experience with Master's degree.
Eight (8) years of additional equivalent work experience (12 total years) may be accepted in lieu of BA/BS education requirement.

Requirements Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic The Power Plant Maintenance Mechanic performs scheduled maintenance, inspections, and adjustments to a state of the art, coal fired, high pressure, fluidized bed steam boiler, three gas/oil fired high-pressure steam boilers, two steam driven three thousand-ton chillers, four electric driven chillers, an emergency generator, and a thermal storage system. The incumbent manages installations, inspections, adjustments, scheduled maintenance, and refurbishing of equipment relative to the operation of these major pieces of equipment. Duties include but are not limited to: * Perform scheduled inspections, alignments and rebuilds of high-pressure pumps, turbines, chillers, compressors, pressure blowers, valves, and coal and ash handling equipment; fans and cooling towers. * Replaces old equipment when directed with new equipment when repair is no longer feasible. * Perform other duties as required to maintain a safe and reliable plant operation.
