JOB TITLE: Vehicle Maintenance Technician-Eddyville, Iowa

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

Perform mechanical services on all

Company fleet vehicles. Must have a good working knowledge of the all of thefollowing: precision alignment, rigging, welding, mathematics, andpreventive/predictive maintenance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Team member must be able to workand lead personnel in a team oriented and safety conscious environment. "SafetyFirst" expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observationprocess, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines andprocedures.
2.Test Drive vehicles and testcomponents and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers,compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices as needed. ExamineVehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions. Repair, replace, andadjust brakes.
3.Follow checklists to ensure allimportant parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, sparkplugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentiallytroublesome areas.
4.Perform routine and scheduledmaintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
5.Repair and service airconditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systems. Test and adjustrepaired systems to meet manufacturer's performance specifications.
6.Tear down, repair, and rebuildfaulty assemblies such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.
7.Assist in formulating preventivemaintenance standards / work procedures while performing those duties andprovide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
8.Assigned tasks list to include, butnot limited to repairs and preventive maintenance on pumps, conveying systems, piping, heat exchangers, power transmissions,and other power driven rotating equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenanceto be performed in conformance with established standards.
9.Must have working knowledge of thefollowing topics: using hand / power tools, precision alignment, rigging, pipefitting,welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
10. Employee will perform any and allother duties that are assigned by the responsible supervisor. Must be able touse hand tools on a daily basis such as power tools (hand grinders, saws,impact wrenches, drill press, and hydraulic pullers), and rigging equipment.Also perform welding, using a cutting torch as required.
11. Must be able to operate and haveknowledge of simple and complex heavy industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissorslifts, basket trucks, and skid loaders.
12. Must have the flexibility to workall shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job.

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES:
1.Ensures compliance with all company/ customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
2.Achieve performance expectationsset forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee expectations set forth as part of performanceappraisals to include employee development planning.
3.Communications with all teammembers to support the development of short and long range planning in supportof the company's goals
4.Maintain personal tools requiredfor your job to include an up to date documented personal tool lists. Required toollisting to be supplied as part of employment.
5.Meet physical requirements of thejob. Physical requirements of the job will be provided to you prior toemployment.
6.Perform assigned tasks in a safe,effective, and efficient manner.
7.Accurate and timely administrativeduties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work ordercompletion.
8.Must maintain positive customer andemployee relations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.) Education: Possess a high schooldegree or an approved GED. AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred, butnot required.
2.) Experience: Five years' experiencein industrial maintenance and repairs preferred

Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, repairs and preventive maintenance on tanks, vessels, piping systems and structural systems. This position requires the employee to work independent of supervision. Tasks also include layout and fabrication of new and replacement piping systems, as well as installation of valves and related piping equipment. Repairs and preventive maintenance to be performed in conformance with established standards. Assist in formulating preventive maintenance standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery. Must have working knowledge of the following topics; blue print reading, ability to draw and interpret isometric diagrams, be or be able to be certified to B31. 1 Pipe Welding Code as well as 6-G in stainless steel. Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler. Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment. Cuts workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife. Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scrap into reusable form. Installs or repairs equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings. Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications. Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments. Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper. Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment. Ignites torch and adjusts valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc. Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations. Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts. Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques. Works from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks. Must have the flexibility to work all shifts including holidays and weekends as demanded by the job. Perform other tasks, to include but not limited to mechanical repairs and maintenance, as assigned by Supervisor.
