Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Homologation Team. A successful candidate must have the ability to work quickly and efficiently with a high level of precision, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate for this position should have excellent CAD skills.

  • Release drawing and specifications into PLM system (knowledge of ENOVIA a plus)

  • Deliver finished designs, detailed drawings, and engineering specifications to be used for supplier bidding and compliance

  • Design, release & update of regulatory Labels.

  • Participate in supplier evaluations to ensure technical deliverables can be achieved.

  • Supplier Coordination on new label part numbers and revisions

  • Address and co-ordinate configuration changes between cross functional teams (planning, chassis engineering, New Product introduction and MES)

  • Validation of label data in test environment

  • Research and implement new techniques and technologies, including materials to continually improve vehicle packaging capability

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science of Mechanical Engineering or similar required.

  • 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Design and CAD Studies.

  • Enovia (Project Life Cycle Management Tool) Strong working capability with CAD (CATIA, Preferred) & Adobe illustrator .

  • Experience with vehicle interior regulatory requirements is preferred. ( FMVSS 201 & ECE R21).

  • Product development experience in automotive, agricultural, mining, or similar field preferred.

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities at once without sacrificing quality of results.

  • Proficient at-risk management and communication.

  • Team player with strong process and continuous improvement mindset.
