The Vehicle Driver II works a rotating eight (8) hour day shift between 5:00

AM to 7:00 PM in the Food Service Department.

The Vehicle Driver II performs routine motor vehicle and food service

operations. Works under the moderate supervision of the Program

Supervisor III of the Food Service Department with minor latitude for the

use of initiative and independent judgment. Work involves: operating motor

vehicles to transport food, equipment and supplies; general vehicle

maintenance such as checking fluid levels; preparation and maintenance of

vehicle records and reports; assisting in food preparation; assisting in the

receipt of goods delivered to the Food Service Department. This position

involves pushing and pulling carts weighing approximately 150 pounds.

This position involves lifting up to 75 pounds. Must understand that duties,

location of work and shift pattern are subject to change as determined by

the administration to meet the needs of the hospital.

Must understand that the duties may include exposure to blood or other

potential infectious materials. Essential Job Functions:

Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
1.Operates food delivery vehicles, delivering food and supplies to various work areas.
2.Follows menus, production sheets, menu guides and other instructions to assemble food and supplies for delivery to the correct dining rooms.
3.Assists cooks when needed to ensure food is delivered in a timely manner.
4.Maintains a clean and sanitary work area, following departmental sanitation guidelines.
5.Assists in receiving goods in central kitchen.
6.Performs all lifting aspects of job duties as needed.


Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location. Knowledge Skills Abilities:
1.Knowledge of motor vehicle operations, cargo loading and unloading methods, traffic regulations, and minor maintenance of motor vehicles.
2.Skill in operating motor vehicles.
3.Ability to follow schedules and instructions in operating vehicles, to follow practices in loading and unloading cargo, and to train others.
4.Ability to perform heavy lifting and standing/walking most of the work day.
5.Ability to be trained to maintain personal work records including daily time in the computer.
6.Ability to use the computer to complete required training courses.
7.Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematic computations.
8.Ability to push/pull up to 150 pounds.
9.Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
10. Ability to work various days and hours, including weekends and holidays. Registration or Licensure

Requirements:

1.Must possess valid Texas driver's license. Applicants with an out-of-state driver's license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure. Eligible driving record required based on HHSC Fleet Management policy. Initial Selection Criteria:

Salary Note: The salary offered will follow HHS starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the posted minimum of the salary range.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, healthcare workers are considered to be at significant risk for acquiring or transmitting hepatitis B, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella (chicken pox), tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough), and influenza. All of these diseases are vaccine-preventable.

As a result, state hospital policy requires employees be vaccinated according to their level of contact with patients. In the event you choose to not be immunized for the influenza virus, you may be required to wear a mask and take other protective measures.

The Clerk II works a Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule in the Facility Competency Training Department (FCTD). The Clerk II will perform advanced secretarial work involving, but not limited to, acting as the receptionist for the Facility Competency Training Department (FCTD) and assisting new employees and visitors in the department. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Program Supervisor III and Program Supervisor IV of the Facility Competency Training Department (FCTD) with moderate latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. This position will back up other positions within the department to ensure the day to day operations are complete; This includes, but is not limited to, computer-based duties, extended typing and sorting/filing of paper documents. The Clerk II must have excellent communication and customer services skills as this position is the first-person people come into contact with in the Facility Competency Training Department (FCTD) Department. This position will also provide assistance to the Client Rights Department as needed with answering phones and conducting day to day department needs. Must understand that the duties may include exposure to blood or other potential infectious materials. Ensures an adequate supply of office supplies are available in the department. Maintains departmental files. 2. Prints training records from PeopleSoft Enterprise Learning system. 3. Schedules Rusk State Hospital (RSH) employees to various training programs as notified and maintains the conference room schedules as needed. 4. Assists in departmental set-up of regular training classes and special activities or programs. 5. Maintains the Rusk State Hospital (RSH) Driver list and all necessary documentation in order to ensure drivers are authorized to drive state vehicles. 6. Coordinates continuing education activities for clinical staff. 7. Completes necessary documentation for requisitions, procurement, purchases and travel as directed. 8. Oversees the appearance of the Facility Competency Training Department (FCTD) Department including making sure the department is neat and orderly in order to provide a positive welcoming environment. 9. Acts as back up to the Administrative Assistant in the Client Rights Department to include taking abuse/neglect allegations from Department of Family Protective Services (DFPS), getting injury reports completed and coordinate action to protect the patient with nursing. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation.
