Responsible to manage all ECU data, such as: part number, hardware version, software version, ZDC, PDX, Verbundsrelease, and UNECE version.
Responsible to ensure that for every build phase of the vehicle the correct ECU data is released accordingly in System42 and / or that the necessary deviation papers are released.
Release Version Management to assembly line to ensure only the right control units are allowed to pass in production.
Ensure the ECU data is released to Production (ASV release) and proper documentation is received and uploaded when necessary (e.g. escalation sheet).
Coordinate with other departments (Pilot Hall, Logistic, Quality, Development, Production Control) when new ECU data is announced, and coordinate the change within the plant to ensure buildability.
Support coordination of updating older control unit versions in Logistic warehouse and Production.
Provide overview of current and future ECU data divide by model, market and model year and distribute to other departments. Update list regularly.
Analysis of BOM and build issue in relation to ECU data. In case of errors develop countermeasures to ensure buildability for the scheduled build data and avoid rework in production.
Key User for company-specific Data Logistics applications used for the management of vehicle electronic bill of materials (i.e. VW Data Logistic 24, System42, and Production42).
Technical leadership of a cross-functional team (OPT) which is responsible for changes of all ECU data.
Responsible for Integration of tests based on new or modified vehicle data due to product changes and/or new product launches.
Provide ASV release for production and integration of corrective rules when necessary. Ensure proper documentation in case of deviations.
Support vehicle analysis team through investigation and isolation of software changes.
Document buildability problems and define countermeasures with the relevant departments for product and process. Propose and test possible solutions.
Escalate problems when necessary in a timely manner to Development, Production Control, Quality, Fachgruppensprecher, Logistic to prevent production downtime.
Establish, evaluate and implement cost optimization and process improvements.
Participate in Cross Functional Teams to improve productivity.
Ensure following pre-series build schedules. Ensure high quality in each build stage.
Document the Data Management status and distribute regular reports.
Bachelors in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Other Engineering fields and equivalent experience considered
Knowledge of vehicle manufacturing process
1-3+ years job related experience
Experience with Object Oriented Programming Languages: Specifically C++, C#, or Java
Advanced degree in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or Computer Science
5+ years job related experience with an automotive background
Able to read/understand German or Spanish language
