Trimble Ag is seeking a Vehicle Controls Programmer with C/C++ firmware experience to join their vehicle steering and guidance team. The Trimble Ag vehicle steering and guidance team is the industry leader in semi-autonomous vehicle steering systems, with support for 1000s of vehicle systems around the world.

The candidate would be joining the core development team for these systems, working on a wide range of products, from embedded ECUs, to steering algorithms, to UI integration, with the goal of making sellable vehicle guidance and control products for a wide range of farming applications. The candidate would play an integral part in product design, development, and support, communicating across multiple teams to facilitate that goal.

Core work would include developing/maintaining algorithms for steering/automating agricultural vehicles such as tractors, harvesters, combines, sprayers, etc..., C/C++ embedded system development, troubleshooting and resolving guidance controls issues, and characterizing vehicle mechanics. Candidates will also have opportunities to participate in many areas of product/system development.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or higher in engineering or related field of study

  • 3+ years of experience dedicated to C/C++ development

  • 2+ years of control systems experience (or demonstrated high-level understanding)

  • Working knowledge of Sensor fusion, State Estimation, Vehicle Dynamics/Kinematics, Vehicle control laws, Actuator control laws, Robotics, etc...

  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink controls development

  • Familiarity with embedded system development

  • Including complex systems using multiple sensors/devices

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A fast learner who is quick to adapt, self-reliant, curious, motivated, and a team player

  • Up to 10% travel (after COVID)

  • Developing Safety Certified systems

  • CAN/J1939 vehicle bus protocol

  • GNSS+IMU based navigation

  • Autonomous/Semi-autonomous vehicle control

ENA is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team in Tennessee. Responsibilities What you will do: As Field Engineer, you will install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain all equipment associated with ENA services to the customer premise, including data, voice, and wireless communication systems. You will define and diagnose issues by applying technical expertise, product knowledge, communication and problem-solving skills, as well as use independent judgment to determine root problem cause and provide resolution to the customer. Additionally, you must manage multiple assignments with shifting priorities and time frames to meet customer expectations. Responsibilities will include * Collaborating with ENA Engineers, Project Managers, and others to initiate technical process changes to improve serviceability, efficiency and customer experience. * Working with customers, vendors, and carriers to schedule on-site activities surrounding all trouble, survey and installation work. * Prepping and testing hardware for installation. Updating firmware for each device and ensuring that all config components are in place and ready for production prior to dispatch. * Traveling to customer locations to install, troubleshoot and support inside wiring from carrier's demarc to access router. Troubleshooting network hardware problems, utilizes network analyzers and tests equipment. Responsible for knowing when to escalate issues to appropriate support group. Interacting with third party vendors and consultants on behalf of ENA. * Handling low voltage demarc extensions and cross connects between network devices which requires high-level knowledge of Ethernet communications and Layer 2 switching of the OSI model. Has a firm grasp on layer 1 connections (Cat 5 & 6 terminations, house cabling RJ21X and 66 blocks, identifying different fiber terminations) which will also be used heavily while in the field. * Creating, updating and maintaining accurate site documentation including all pictures and documents associated with ISP and OSP work for ENA builds into customer's facilities. Documenting all project and trouble work proficiently in an internal ticketing system. * During ISP/OSP surveys, works with vendors and carriers to identify the most cost-effective pathway for both the customer and ENA. Working with the vendor to have a firm quote generated in a timely fashion for Project Management approval and PO creation. * Maintaining appropriate equipment levels for specific coverage area. Working with Inventory Management to obtain hardware for upcoming installs. Testing and repairing equipment returned from customer locations. * Responsible for adhering to departmental inventory management discipline and keeping ENA's Asset Management tool accurate and up-to-date in association with activities performed. Qualifications Your experience includes: 1-3 years in the data networking field is required. A working knowledge of Cisco command line is required. CCNA certification is a plus. Experience working with carriers and troubleshooting high-capacity data circuits is also a plus. Qualified candidates will also have experience with: * LAN/WAN/VPN and remote network technologies and protocols (i.e.TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, ATM, Frame-Relay, DSL) routers, hubs and servers * VoIP installation and maintenance * WiFi design, installation and maintenance Field Engineers must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Company hours accommodate our customer's needs; evening, late-night, and weekend hours are sometimes required to coordinate customer project work, maintenance, or emergency trouble restoration. This position must maintain a home office in the state of Tennessee. Travel is required 90% of the time, including overnight stays, as needed.
