As a VDI Engineer you will use your knowledge and experience to implement VMware's Horizon VDI solutions for our professional and managed services customers. You will use your VMWare Horizon VDI cloud experience to implement, organize, modify, and deliver for the L3 support organizational teams.
Collaborates with client and Insight system and network administrators/engineers. He or she is responsible for standard delivery and maintenance of VMWare Horizon and WSO modules that allow client applications, configurations, and security policies for client endpoints. He or she will collaborate with Product Management Architects to define and improve the enterprise endpoint reference architecture(s). The position is expected to architect the management of endpoints in a cloud or hybrid environment consisting of thin clients with virtualized desktops, physical PC workstations, macOS, and applications with local and domain managed profiles, and end user BYOD mobility.

Work directly with Insight Solution Account Managers (SAEs) and customers to drive adoption of VMware Cloud services and Insight UEM managed services
Design and develop innovative solutions to customer requirements using VMware's Cloud Services, focus on VMWare Workspace ONE and Horizon
Participate in the pre-sales process to understand customer business and technical objectives and product requirements
Solutioning work tasks to be guided within the managed product(s) available models
Assist in, provide feedback, and collaborate in the development of standard reusable VMware UEM offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables and standard estimates with other Insight CWF teams
Document solution architecture, deployment, configuring and managing VMware Horizon Cloud and Hybrid and WSO solutions
Participate in and deliver on-site and remote requirement and solution workshops
Successful track record deploying and managing VMWare Horizon and WSO workloads in public cloud environments
Technical stakeholder with client and internal resources and activities to ensure deliverables within scope and time
Develop/improve/recommend workflow for more efficient delivery and reduced overall customer time to value
Work closely with Product Management, Engineering and support teams to drive customer satisfaction as well as product supportability improvements
Ability to travel: 30-40%
Minimum - 6 years of vsphere experience and/or 3 years of Horizon and implementation at enterprise level
Current Desktop Virtualization certifications are not required, but are a plus
Microsoft RDSH/VDI (MCTS or MCSE)
VMware Horizon View (VCP or VCP-DT, VCAP-DTA, BCAP-DTD, VCDX-DT, or VCA-WM) Highly desired VMWare certifications
Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp (CCA, CCAA, CCEE or CCIA)
Have a domain level understanding of Public Cloud Infrastructure & Network Architecture, Network Design, Virtualization, Application Management and Security
Have technical knowledge, usage, installation, configuration, optimization, and administration experience with the following VMware technology: vSphere / vCenter, vSAN, vROPS, UEM, App Volumes, and Horizon 7
Microsoft Azure, Cloud, SCCM and Admin certifications desired
At least 5 years experience in customer-facing positions such as a professional services consultant, solutions architect, customer engineer, etc.
Strong MS Windows, iOS, Android operating system knowledge and Network Architecture skills
Extensive experience with Public Cloud environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud, Rackspace, Virtustream, DigitalOcean, etc.
Knowledge of VMware's full Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) stack
Working knowledge of at least one scripting language
Exceptional learning, communication (written and verbal, internal and external) and presentation skills
Ability to work well in fast-paced environment with constantly changed priorities
Ability to work collaboratively with internal product management, engineering, support and OEM teams on problem troubleshooting and driving product, configuration and problem resolution
B Hands-on experience with gathering and developing technical analysis for business requirements.
Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to provide technical feedback, guidance, and advice during teleconferences and meetings.
B.S./B.A./M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, IT degree or equivalent technical training
