VDC Manager (Project Based)
Reports to: VDC Director
Location: Los Angeles, CA
The project dedicated VDC Manager is responsible for setup, management, implementation, teaming and execution of McCarthy's VDC/BIM Processes, Tools and Best Practices within the project-specific collocated environment. The VDC Manager reports to the Regional VDC Director.
Responsible for setup of all project cloud-based software platforms and best practices related to model authoring and coordination collaboration in this environment.
Responsible for aiding project personnel in the implementation of VDC processes and best practices on the project through pro-active training, support and examples.
Project dedicated management and delivery of all VDC services and deployments (laser scanning, drone flights, progress documentation)
Lead 3D coordination meetings and cluster groups for all phases of the project.
Project-level execution of 3D Trade Coordination with the Design team and Trade Contractors.
Maintenance of the project-specific BIM Execution Plan throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure software/hardware platforms are upgraded throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate directly with VDC Director to maintain conformance with regional VDC Processes and Technical Tools.
Maintain an accurate and current database of VDC implementation/support costs for the project.
Maintain, Evaluate and Report VDC Metrics for the project on a monthly basis.
Present VDC training at the project-level for Engineers, Managers and Superintendents.
Provide End-of-Project metric results and case studies.
Discuss and document VDC lessons learned.
Update corporate database and sharing of successes at each project milestone.
BS in Civil/Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture is required.
Specific technical expertise of VDC coordination of building systems is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to plan, facilitate and document meetings.
Strong overall knowledge of building construction sequencing.
Implementation of focused Initiatives.
Understanding of building design, construction, and operations.
Understanding of CPM scheduling.
Understanding of Pre-construction services.
Enjoys training others.
Proficient in the use of Autodesk-based modeling/management applications such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Recap and other tools where applicable.
Proficient in the use of documentation applications such as BlueBeam or similar.
Preferred experience with ancillary software platforms such as SketchUp, Tekla, Fuzor, Synchro or others comparable for modeling, logistics, and sequencing.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in daily management programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Some National travel required.
