The VDC Manager is responsible for the management, implementation and execution of McCarthy's VDC/BIM processes, tools and best practices within the division. The VDC Manager reports to the Regional VDC Director. This role involves some travel.
Responsible for aiding project personnel in the implementation of VDC processes and best practices on their projects through pro-active training, support and examples
Support VDC implementation opportunities in the marketing and pre-construction phases of a project
Participate in the development and implementation of corporate-level VDC goals and initiatives, regional-level processes and technical tools and project-level workload management and trade coordination
Maintain an accurate database of VDC implementation/support costs for each project within the region and evaluate/report VDC metrics
Present VDC training at various regional training opportunities to engineers, managers and superintendents
Update corporate database at each project milestone, including end-of-project metric results and case studies and any "lessons learned"
Oversight of VDC Field Manager workload and project implementation and VDC Specialist workload and project prioritization
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil/Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture required
Specific technical expertise in VDC coordination of building systems required
Understanding of pre-construction services, CPM scheduling, building design, construction, and operations
Proficient in the use of Autodesk-based modeling/management applications such as Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Recap etc. and documentation applications such as BlueBeam
Experience with ancillary software platforms such as SketchUp, Tekla, Fuzor, Synchro etc. preferred
Proficiency in daily management programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent verbal and written communication with a demonstrated ability to plan, facilitate and document meetings
Process-oriented with a strong overall knowledge of building construction sequencing
Teamwork-oriented with an affinity for training others
