GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision, performs non-invasive vascular testing utilizing a variety of ultrasonic and plethysmographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images and blood flow data.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates ultrasonic and plethysmographic equipment to obtain diagnostic images and blood flow data following established protocols.
Manually controls the equipment to obtain proper information from the area of the body being studied.
Ability to decipher normal from abnormal pathology in order to obtain appropriate tests and
to show the abnormality in its entirety.
Reviews clinical data from the medical record and a brief patient history and physical assessment to ensure that the appropriate test is performed.
Completes a work sheet on each patient and record and initial impression to aid in diagnosis. Reviews study with the physician, clarifies any discrepancies and performs additional testing if necessary.
Help coordinate OPD & IPD patient scheduling. Establish good rapport with the patient, ensuring his/her cooperation.
Assures patient comfort with positioning, pain medications, etc.
Maintain a safe environment for the patient with stretchers, side rails, oxygen, therapy, IV therapy etc. Maintains clean and neat work area and insures proper supplies are available for use.
Prepares exam room for the patient and regularly restocks with linen and other required supplies.
