Position Summary:

The Vascular Technologist, Non-Invasive Cardiology, reports directly to the Supervisor, Non-Invasive Cardiology, and utilizes specialized knowledge, skills and equipment by the order of a qualified physician to perform diagnostic tests providing data of the patients' complete or specific peripheral vascular or cerebrovascular system. Vascular technology is a field recognized as being capable of performing examinations without direct physician supervision.

The technologist, through subjective and/or recording of data, proceeds with the established methodology of diagnostic examinations, creating a foundation from which a correct anatomic and physiological diagnosis can be developed for the individual patient when compared with the physician's clinical diagnosis.

Position Requirements:

Licensure/Certifications:

  • Current BLS provider card

Education:

  • High School graduate

  • 2 years college and Registered Vascular Technologist certificate or registry eligible.

Experience:

  • Previous hospital experience with regular patient contact desired

  • 4 years' experience in the vascular field desired

SCHEDULE: PRN SHIFT: Varied POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director Medical Surgical and Oncology, the Nurse Navigator functions on the multidisciplinary team with a focus on the development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the community outreach program for the cancer patients treated with curative intent. Suggested specialties include physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, nutritionists, physical therapists, and other allied health professionals. The survivorship program team determines a list of services and programs, offered on-site or by referral that address the needs of cancer survivors. The team formally documents a minimum of three services offered each year. Services may be continued year to year, but it is expected that cancer programs will strive to enhance existing services over time and develop new services. Acts as ambassador and representative of the Oncology Program in community events and markets/promotes service line to increase business volume for the Hospital. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 3 years of Nurse Navigation experience, 2 years recent oncology experience preferred. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Current California RN License. California CNS Certification in Oncology or eligibility and completion within 12 months of hire. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Master's Degree in Nursing Science KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Each year, the survivorship program coordinator gives a report, and the cancer committee reviews the activities of the survivorship program. The report includes: * An estimate of the number of cancer patients who participated in the three identified services. * Identification of the resources needed to improve the services if barriers were encountered Survivorship Program Services.
