Providence is calling an on-call Vascular Technologist to Providence Medford Medical Center in Medford, OR.

(0.0 FTE, Rotating/Variable Shift)

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for performing non-invasive Vascular Lab examinations under the guidelines set by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (I.C.A.V.L.), in order to maintain Vascular Laboratory Accreditation.

  • Complete the required paperwork for each examination performed.

  • Write preliminary reports and provide these reports to the reading and referring physicians.

  • Perform all duties in a manner which promotes a team concept, caring and respect, and which reflects the Sisters of Providence Mission and philosophy.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an approved medical program (i.e. Medical Imaging Technology, Vascular Technology, Nursing) with a minimum of an Associate degree

  • Registered in Vascular Technology (R.V.T.) or registry-eligible (registration within 1 year of hire date), by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (A.R.D.M.S.)

  • Oregon State license

  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at time of hire, or within 90 days of hire date

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors degree

VIEW JOBS 4/12/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-11T00:00 Position Summary: Performs high quality diagnostic ultrasound exams and special diagnostic ultrasound procedures (as needed) under the direction of a physician; involving the use of high frequency sound waves to investigate the internal aspects of the human body. Requires a high degree of technical knowledge pertaining to acoustics and its various interactions within the human body. An in depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology is also required so the technologist can evaluate laboratory data, past medical history and pertinent symptoms to tailor the ultrasound examination to each patient individually in a safe, accurate and timely manner. The Ultrasound technologist will need to work on an independent basis but will also be required to function as a team player. Duties may overlap with different job descriptions throughout the Imaging Department and Center as a whole, as needed, to assure smooth operations of the entire department and best satisfaction for the patient. Should be proficient in OB/GYN, small parts, venous, carotid, abdominal ultrasounds # procedures requiring ultrasound guidance (i.e. biopsies, amniocentesis, aspirations, paracentesis, thoracentesis, hysterosonograms, etc.)## # Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required EDUCATION: Associates Degree from a two-year college based ultrasound program or one-year certificate ultrasound based program.
