Position: VAS Lead
Reports to: Operations Manager
Job Class: Hourly
Location: Victorville, CA
The VAS Lead will be a master of their area. They need to be capable of training, trouble shooting and leading the VAS team. Areas may include VAS, Quality Inspect, Picking, Loading, Inbound, etc. The VAS Lead will work in partnership with the VAS specialist to manage the VAS team, coordinating and delegating work for any special projects and reboxing duties, and will be responsible for ensuring that the team meets their daily goals.
Job Duties
Responsible for their area's workload to be completed on time for the day.
Bring up issues and concerns that are happening on the floor and with VAS projects/needs.
Engage in conversations with the employees about their job tasks and performance.
Work with VAS Specialist to delegate work appropriately to ensure daily goals are met.
Be engaged with and understand PEAK on the floor to develop and fix ongoing issues.
Take ownership in area and of associates to ensure teams stay strong and productive or if teams need change.
Team player within the shift and between departments
Attendance and punctuality is expected five days a week, and occasionally on weekends for mandatory overtime as needed.
Safety focus - Drive to improve safety performance, ensure safety rules/practices and good housekeeping is followed.
Ensure that all housekeeping and 6S audits are conducted daily. Target 6S rating to exceed 90%.
Maintain clean and orderly work area.
Maintain clean and orderly equipment and report any safety concerns on the rides.
Qualifications
Good communication.
Experience troubleshooting issues.
Able to balance time on production floor and time at workstation as needed; willing to be mobile.
Ability be a leader and lead by example.
Sense of Ownership of department and of associates to ensure team stays strong and productive.
Team player within the shift and between departments
Ability to guide team through change.
Miniumum Requirements
HS/GED required, and 2 or more years of related experience preferred.
Demonstrated leadership abilities; previous leadership experience is an asset.
Experience in distribution/logistics/warehouse preferred.
Team oriented, self-motivated, and positive attitude.
Good communication both written and verbal.
Ability to plan work daily and be self-motivated.
Requires flexibility to changing priorities based on shipping and production department needs.
The California base pay range for this position is from $43,680 to 52,000. Salary will be based on prior experience related to the skills required for this position
