As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will design, develop and test fluid valves, fluid system components, and other mechanical systems for various fluid applications. This hands-on position involves you in all aspects of the design, assembly, test and flight operations of rocket components. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Participate in the entire design cycle of valves and fluid system components including conceptual and detailed design, thermo-fluid modeling, structural analysis, development testing and qualification
Generate component and assembly drawings with application of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware
Participate in new or existing fluid component and subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis
Develop project development plans, schedules and cost estimates
Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering
5+ years of experience with spacecraft or launch vehicle fluid system component design or test
Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred)
Experience with GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)
Detailed knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, and fittings
Experience with leak and flow testing of hardware using cryogenic fluids and high pressure gases
Knowledge of fabrication and quality control relative to various manufacturing processes
Working knowledge of materials and treatments
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
