Job Designation

To provide production leadership to a manufacturing value stream team, utilizing lean business systems as the keystone of the daily activities required to deliver business results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and cost. Establish a world-class manufacturing organization to support current and future challenges. This position will have direct reporting responsibility for a value stream team consisting of Supervisor, Team Leads and Assemblers, and Manufacturing Engineers / Technicians.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Provide motivational leadership and communication to all team associates to ensure understanding and attainment of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory performance objectives and weekly shipments.

  • Coordinate material and resource planning to ensure daily delivery and productivity goals are met.

  • Utilize, drive, and promote understanding of Lean tools and principles to ensure the delivery of business objectives and a culture of continuous improvement. Develop and implement kaizen plans, daily management, lean conversion, and countermeasures.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedure. Take active role in safety awareness and accident prevention.

  • Develop a world-class operations organization by providing training, coaching, and counseling as appropriate.

  • Ensure proper staffing levels, quality and quantity, to meet customer requirements and achieve productivity targets.

  • Support and nurture a healthy work culture based on respect, equal treatment, and positive growth

  • Identify, implement, and support cost-out opportunities relative to materials management at point-of-use, productivity improvements, waste reduction, and make/buy.

  • Ensure general safety, compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company requirements.

  • Manage staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary during unique periods based on business needs

  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specifications

Education : Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing / Technology, or equivalent required.

Years Experience : 5 + years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Skills :

  • Minimum 2 year proven shop floor front line operations leadership / supervisory experience in a multi-functional manufacturing environment, preferred

  • Working knowledge and advanced training in Lean manufacturing concepts, preferred.

  • Proven ability to develop and enhance an organization including the formal development of direct reports, preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a rapid changing, intense, and demanding environment.

  • Outstanding spreadsheet utilization skills along with proficiency in word processing and presentation software (MS Office).

  • Significant exposure to and working knowledge ofmultiple MRP functions (shop floor, planning, procurement, quality) in SAP or equivalent, preferred

  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications

  • Previous experience in an military &/or aerospace setting with ISO and FAA regulations, preferred

  • Excellent Communicator and Team-builder

  • Exceptional leadership skills including ability to drive improvements / results across departments
