In this role you would be responsible for managing the operational management of fabrication, testing, and quality control of a group of major products or a single product line of significant scope. You would also perform administrative functions with respect to established policies, procedures and methods, recommending changes to improve product quality or reduce costs.

Who you'll work with

This position reports to either the Director of Operations or the General Manager.

What you'll do


  • Plans, directs, and monitors all manufacturing activities to efficiently meet delivery schedules within assigned cost targets

  • Responsible for maintaining the shop equipment ensuring maximum uptime efficiency

  • Supporting industrialization of production facility working with the manufacturing and industrial engineers under the program leadership

  • Develops specific short and long range plans and programs together with supporting budget requests based on current and forecasted customer requirements

  • Directs the implementation of quality improvement plan ensuring the commitment of resources to accomplish defined goals and objectives

  • Analyzes cost control reports, cost estimates and staffing and facility requirement forecasts. Interacts with all other functional groups to ensure organizational goals are achieved

  • Reviews with other functional groups the competitive posture of unit, within-house and/or outside suppliers of similar products. Recommends and implements strategies to be the lowest cost, highest quality provider of products or services.

  • Ensures prompt and economical receipt of needed materials and supplies and on-time delivery of finished products or services to customers.

  • As a member of management, establish and communicate the vision and mission for the company and ensure the creation of strategies and processes that focus and empower employees to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers, fellow employees, and Senior Management.

  • Ensure the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of company policy and adherence to various government regulations

  • Administer and comply with the Company's Human Resources policies and procedures to provide fair and equitable treatment for all employees while ensuring optimum productivity and resource utilization. Prepare and conduct regular employee performance reviews with each directly reporting subordinate at least once each year.

About you

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Industrial Management or Engineering.
  • 10+ Years Experience in Manufacturing Operations expierence.
  • 3+ years experience should include supervisory, planning, scheduling and cost/product experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GKN experience

  • Experience applying Lean and Continuous Improvement Tools, such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Visual Management, Six Sigma, etc.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated adeptness at motivating all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and embrace change.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Demonstrated people management success including hiring and performance management as well as maintaining high levels of engagement among the technical staff.
