Tenneco's Powertrain Division is looking for a Value Stream Manager that leads door-to-door implementation of the future state for a particular product family across departmental and functional boundaries. He or she is directly responsible within the assigned area for the management of all resources to satisfy customer requirements in the timely delivery of quality product, while optimizing throughput, inventories and costs. They will promote a climate that is Lean, cost efficient, safe and productive. This person will become a valued member of our Production / Distribution Support team, where we strive to promote from within wherever possible; therefore, opportunities for advancement are strong.

An ideal candidate for this position is a candidate who possesses a Bachelor's degree and at least 8-10 years of working experience. Strong attention to detail, significant capability, drive, and initiative to implement change and manage others are all necessary qualifications for this position.

  • Directly supervises Production supervisors, quality engineers, manufacturing engineers, and non-salaried employees.

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of a department or business unit consisting of a team of employees to produce quality parts to satisfy our customer.

  • Determine work procedures.

  • Prepare work schedules and expedite workflow.

  • Issue written/oral instructions.

  • Assign duties/maintain harmony among employees.

  • Prepare reports.

  • Assist subordinates in performing duties.

  • Responsible for assuring employees are properly trained.

  • Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and enforcing safety policy.

  • May give certain authority to assigned staff within their job scope to perform duties, make decisions, and use independent judgments.

  • All employees will abide by the plant's safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.

  • Capable of providing support as requested by supervisor.



  • Bachelor's Degree in related field required


  • 2 or more years of experience in a Plant or General Manager role in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must have working knowledge of Lean production systems.

  • Previous supervision experience is mandatory.

This includes receiving, inspecting, invoicing, storing, and delivering supplies.
