Job Summary

The Value Analysis Improvement Advisor is passionate about delivering value (outcomes and safety at the most appropriate cost) to patients and families. The Improvement Advisor enjoys collaborating with cross-functional teams to create end-to-end solutions for improvement. S/he learns quickly, can work independently, and is relentless in overcoming technical, process, and organizational obstacles.

The Improvement Advisor will join the Value Analysis team, and will be responsible for empowering users across the institution with a unique blend and process improvement, project management, and change management/leadership expertise. The team works collaboratively with clinical and operations staff to:

  • Evaluate products and services for their safety, efficacy, and cost prior to and after reaching patients.

  • Embed a culture of continuous improvement around how products and services are utilized in order to reduce cost and deliver world-class safety and outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Trusted advisor to VA Program Manager with regards to management and continuous improvement of program, inclusive of but not limited to: development of 5-year strategic and yearly operating plans, process improvement, creation or enhancement of tools/templates/systems, benchmarking and data analysis, identification of key metrics and dashboard development, communication and change management.

  • Key leader and partner to VA committee members (clinical, operations, and supply chain staff) with regards to wing-to-wing value analysis/new product introduction process:

  • INTAKE:

  • Identify opportunities through data analysis and voice of customer.

  • DUE DILIGENCE:

  • Individually conduct and/or collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze opportunity: financial impact/business case, materials distribution, patient safety, infection prevention and control, risk/legal.

  • COMMITTEE EVALUATION:

  • Lead/facilitate variety of VA committees (e.g. Medical Device, Patient Care, Perioperative) through presentation and evaluation of products.

  • TRIAL & IMPLEMENTATIONS:

  • Develop and project manage test and implementation activities: trial questions, project plan, logistics, data analysis, communication, education, risk assessment, policy changes.

  • MONITORING & CONTROL:

  • Develop and project manage monitoring and control plan, to assure product performs according to expectations: data analysis supporting safety, outcomes, and financial performance (i.e. Value)

  • Lead portfolio of projects focused on improving utilization of current supplies and purchased services, using process improvement methodologies (e.g. LEAN, 6 Sigma, IHI Model for Improvement, etc.).

  • Educate and mentor junior members of VA program, committees, and supply chain team.

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

None

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors' degree.

  • Minimum of 3 years in role which required advanced skill in process improvement or project management.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Certification and/or experience in process improvement methodologies (6 Sigma, IHI, LEAN) and/or project management (PMI) preferred.

  • Experience in healthcare and/or supply chain preferred.

Additional Technical Requirements

  • Excellent written and oral/presentation skills.

  • Creative and energetic problem solver.

  • Strong project management, facilitation, and leadership skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.

  • Strong analytical mindset and skills.

  • Process-minded; ability to address root causes versus symptoms of issues.

  • Ability to simplify complex information from various sources (e.g. systems/data, voice of customer, benchmarking).

  • Strong willingness and aptitude for learning new concepts and analytical approaches.

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

  • Actively contributes to a highly collaborative work environment.

Job Title: Quality Improvement Coordinator, Radiology JOB SUMMARY * Facilitate the development and implementation of Quality Improvement activities that enhance patient safety and compliance with Joint Commission and state initiatives. * Imaging stroke program coordinator. Manage daily strokes to ensure timeliness; provide monthly reports; present at site stroke meetings and quarterly system stroke meeting. * Imaging liaison with System Manager, Quality and Regulatory to ensure compliance .System Regulatory * Analyze and report Quality Improvement data to determine trends that require process improvement. * Support the development and management of performance improvement initiatives for the Radiologists (RAML), in addition to coordination with system-wide activities and initiatives. * Maintain, update, distribute, communicate, create and make recommendations for changes in the Radiology Policy and Procedure manual. * Serves as resource for Radiology department regarding Performance Improvement activities. * Interfaces with all hospital and system-wide departments for the Quality/Performance Improvement program. * Ensure updates are to Radiology Outpatient forms are forwarded to HIM and that appropriate distribution is made after final approval.
