Summary
Valorant Head Coach. This is a part-time, no benefits position. The Head Valorant Coach is responsible for the coaching of the esports club Valorant teams, planning practices, arranging travel, ensuring student performance, recruiting players, maintaining roster size, and managing the program budget. The Head Valorant Coach is expected to travel to LAN competitions. This position will also work closely with the esports club's Executive Board members.
Primary Duties:
Leads team & individual practice planning, game scheduling, and weekly practices.
Assist in planning and organization of the ongoing development of the Valorant program.
Attend official competitions and execute all in game leadership, strategies, and provide mentorship to all members of the Valorant program.
Abide by the rules and regulations of the league in which the team competes.
Attend and complete required training.
Recruit academically and athletically qualified student athletes to the program.
Attend state-wide recruiting events, such as the MHSEL or MIHSEF state finals.
Performs other duties as required/assigned by RecWell administration or esports club's Executive Board members.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have the ability to drive GVSU vehicles and/or rental vehicles when attending tournaments that involve travel.
Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed overnight and on weekends.

Compensation:
This is paid as a $10,000 stipend for the '24-25 academic year.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed outside of a normal office environment and will require night and evening hours outside of typical business hours. Travel will be required for both practice and event opportunities.
