Utilize VCS-developed planning templates to develop and refine curriculum maps, culminating projects, rubrics, units, and lessons that meet the requirements of Common Core Standards
Utilize school-adopted curricula for specific subject areas (e.g., reading and writing workshop, Singapore math).
Create a structured, positive classroom culture that is conducive to learning and promotes a sense of belonging for all students
Establish positive, caring relationships with students and school stakeholders
Design and deliver classroom instruction that is standards-based, purposeful, promotes critical thinking and student ownership, and embeds supports for learners at different levels and frequent checks for understanding
Gather and use data to tailor instruction to meet individual student academic and social needs with a goal of grade level performance
Participate in professional learning activities
Demonstrate high levels of professionalism
Collaborate effectively colleagues
Serve as an active member of the community on committees QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED TRAITS -2+ years teaching experience highly desirable
Valid CA multiple subject credential with EL authorization
Spanish fluency highly desirable
