What you'll do:

The Validation Test Technician is responsible for safely operating a diverse variety of motor vehicles in multiple environments including the open road, test tracks and closed test environments in order to gather data and provide test results to the development team.

  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment for testing and data acquisition for driver assistance projects with focus on radar based advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)

  • Operate software tools, log data during vehicle test, and provide feedback to engineering on subjective radar sensor or vehicle performance.

  • Review daily testing requirements and coordinate work plan with dispatch

  • Initiate and execute Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) as required and / or contributing to/supporting CAPAs as needed

  • Perform vehicle inspection and safety checklist prior to using each vehicle

  • Operate vehicle(s) and test systems in compliance with Autoliv standards

  • Comply with all driving regulations, including test site, local, state, and federal at all times

  • Perform tests and scenarios in a variety of weather and driving conditions

  • Assist in keeping the radar garage and vehicles clean at all times

  • Secure and inspect vehicles daily

  • Assure customer (OEM) confidentiality at all times

  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

What you'll bring:

  • HS Diploma or GED plus minimum 5 years driving experience

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required

  • Must possess an unrestricted and valid US issued driver license

  • Must have a clean driving record that indicates a pattern of safe and responsible driving

  • Experience working with computers, including standard MS office suite.

  • Flexible work schedule required to accommodate night and/or weekend testing

  • Basic understanding of electronics helpful

  • Experience with trailer-tow a plus

  • Experience working in and engineering environment doing multiple tasks

What You Will Do: The V&V Vehicle Integration Engineer is responsible for ensuring the successful operation of advanced automotive radar systems within the data collection fleet through test definition, data collection, high-level data performance analysis, strong interaction with the Radar Signal Processing team. Responsibilities include, setting up vehicles with Radars, reference systems and data acquisition systems. Both bench-level and vehicle-level verification and validation will be necessary; additionally, assisting in resolving problems and issues that occur during installation in customer vehicles will be required. * Full understanding of the data acquisition system and associated interfaces * Setup vehicle which includes Radars, Reference Cameras, LIDAR's, DGPS, Data Acquisition racks and cablings. * Once setup do test drives to make sure vehicle is setup as required * Review daily vehicle setup needs for data collection and coordinate work plan with drive team * Strive for continuous improvement and efficiency within the team * Other duties as assigned by your supervisor What You Will Bring: * BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering * Software, electronics, and hardware design knowledge * Testing and validation processes knowledge * Experience reviewing and executing test plans * Unrestricted and valid US issued driver license * Domestic and International travel (5-10% total, international 2x per year or so) - requires a U.S. passport * Early morning or weekend work 1x a month or so is possible * Excellent team player with proven leadership ability * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal * Familiarity with Automotive CAN network A+ * Experience in vehicle setup and testing A+ * Automotive industry background is A+ Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
