Job Description:

Overview:

Siemens is seeking a validation engineer to generate validation supportdocuments and commissioning forms and functional performance tests for our teamin Hayward.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops system life-cycledocumentation for Siemens computer-based controls systems for buildingautomation, environmental monitoring, equipment monitoring, and systemintegrations. Documentation includesURS, FS, FDS, FRS, SDS, SDD, HDS, HDD, Control Logic Diagrams, Trace Matrix,SOPs and other documentation as required by customers.

  • Develops testing plans includingFAT, SAT, Commissioning, and Qualification (IOPQ) to prove system compliancewith 21CFR Part 11 for electronic data and electronic signatures.

  • Authors Method of Procedure (MOP)documents and test forms for modifications to qualified systems per customerrequirements. Oversees execution andreviews final executed document and associated test forms to ensure compliancewith customer requirements and Food and Drug Administration Good DocumentationPractices standards.

  • Populates test-form contentspecific to system based on approved engineering and/or system specifications.

  • Interacts with customer qualitygroups, customer engineering teams, General Contractors, project managers,Siemens Field Specialists, and Commissioning Agents on multiple projects tofacilitate execution of test forms and ensure compliance with FDA gooddocumentation practices and customer SOPs during test execution at all levels.

  • Reviews testing documentation toensure compliance with customer requirements and FDA GDP standards.

  • Manages deviation process duringexecution of testing. Authors deviationform content. Works with the customer toresolve deviations recorded during test execution or system modifications.

  • Oversees test execution scheduleto facilitate efficiency. Supports fieldexecution of documentation as needed.

RequiredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:

  • Required education: High School Diploma, state-recognized GED, or state-recognized high school proficiency exam.

  • Required experience: At least two years of experience as a validation/quality engineer or Building Automation Engineer.

  • Required travel: 5%

  • Other requirements:

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.

  • Must have excellent communications skills (written and verbal) in English, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.

PreferredKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:

  • Preferred education: Bachelor of Science degree

  • Other preferences:

  • Good understanding of mechanical HVAC systems

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.

  • Familiarity with Validation principles and GDP.

  • Two years of experience with technical writing of life-cycle documentation (URS, FS, SDS, HDS, etc)

  • Experience/Familiarity with engineering drawings (P&ID, Electrical, Mechanical).

This office-based position is responsible for the design of building automation systems that are sold by our sales group. Responsibilities: * Chooses the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most cost effective solution. Prepares all required submittals and schedules subsequent hand-off to operations. Handles the ordering of all required products and equipment. * Acts as a technical resource to the Siemens team and customers as needed. Participates in sales-to-operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout. May participate in initial job site walk-through with contractors and/or building management. Independently designs building automation systems for standard and/or critical environment facilities such as data centers or laboratories. * May need to create unique design solutions to meet specific customer requirements. Designs building automation systems for large and/or complex buildings consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, and Direct Digital Control panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications, and contract documents. * Designs large complex building automation network architecture to support operator workstations, DDC field panels, and third-party integration devices connected through LON, Ethernet, Siemens P2 or BACNET. Provides start-up and checkout documentation to the Project Manager and system specialist for use in commissioning and validation.
