Hardware Engineering - Hardware & Silicon Validation Board and ASIC Bring-up Marvell Semiconductor seeks Staff Engineer to validate ASIC in the post-silicon environment with emphasis on Board and ASIC Bring-up. Responsibilities:
Bring-up the ASIC though full power-on-reset sequence and ensure proper functionality of the chip; Understand Hardware Architecture and Micro-Architecture Specification and implement the post-silicon validation environment; Work with front-end hardware, software and architecture team to come up with comprehensive test plan and execute the corresponding functional testcases in the validation environment; Validation of Direct Memory Access functionality Verify configuration management of the ASIC using industry standard peripheral configuration protocols such as PCIe, I2C, SMBUS, etc.; Debug and bring-up state-of-the-art Machine Learning ASIC and its peripheral components and analyze and validate its design intent; Troubleshoot failing tests with diagnostics, software tools, hardware analyzers, oscilloscopes, meters, logic/protocol analyzers; Work with cross-functional teams and external vendors to debug any post-silicon and/or customer issues; Requirements:
8-12 years of Board and ASIC bring-up.
Knowledge of JTAG, TAP, Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), I2C. Experience in debugging thru JTAG Knowledge of PCIE or DDR, and experience bringing-up PCIe or DDR. Experience testing DMA.
Embedded Software Development experience. Working knowledge of board design; able to read board schematics and board layout. Strong lab skills with hands on experience, in system bring up, system testing and debug.
Strong skill using high speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, Logic and Protocol Analyzers. Working experience with Perl or Python Analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred/Plus: Experience with ASIC PVT Characterization Understanding of Linux drivers Education:
