POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the efficient and safe parking and retrieval of guests' vehicles.
Transports luggage to and from outside areas such as the Porte Cochere of the hotel to guest rooms and other areas deemed appropriate. Provides information and directions to guests regarding all services available on property. Provides aggressive hospitality in a friendly manner by extending a helping hand to all incoming and outgoing guests with luggage in accordance with Harrah's Service Cycle and FOCUS training. Resolves customer issues according to Service Recovery training.
MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENTS: 18 years of age
1.Acknowledges and greets each guest with enthusiasm and prescribed terminology immediately upon the guests' arrival.
2.Follows policies and procedures to insure safe and efficient parking and retrieval of guests' vehicles.
3.Handles guests' vehicles safely and cautiously at all times.
4.Maintains proper key controls.
5.Ensures parking tickets have been completed correctly.
6.Offers information to guests regarding directions, transportation, promotions and Total Rewards.
7.Actively participates in maintaining a safe and spotless work environment.
8.Assists bell staff during high volume periods.
9.Maintains neat and clean appearance, and treats guests and co-workers courteously at all times.
10. Presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same.
11. Must assist patrons in answering questions and directing them to areas of safety during emergencies as directed by management, security, or marine crew members.
12. Assure exceptional customer service to all patrons by communicating in a pleasant, friendly and professional manner at all times.
13. Must be able to operate golf cart as a shuttle for patrons from Hotel to the Casino.
14. Executes four-star service by accurately transporting guests' luggage to the room assigned after the registration process is completed.
15. Picks up guests' luggage upon departure and transports to form of transportation or delivers for storage.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
PHYSICAL - Must be able to:
1.Tolerate all types of weather conditions.
2.Walk and/or run to or from valet booth to valet parking area in a quick and efficient manner.
3.Ability to lift heavy luggage repeatedly.
4.Must be able to stoop, bend, and lift objects that weigh up to 100 pounds.
5.Must be able to push and/or pull heavy rolling loads in excess of 300
6.Hear. Can be augmented with a hearing aid.
8.Drive all types of vehicles.
9.Climb steps repeatedly.
MENTAL - Must be able to:
1.Communicate directly with management, staff and guests
2.Read, write and comprehend.
3.Understand and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels and other instructions.
4.Must be able to work under stressful conditions.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Must have and hold a state issued Driver's License and have a clean M.V.R. for 2 year period.
Valet parking experience helpful. Must have excellent customer service and organizational skills. Must have a neat and clean appearance and mature attitude.
Must have the ability to hold an Occupational License as required by the Illinois Gaming Board.
