Pay: Base Rate + Tip, Potential to earn $15-$18 an hour and more to start.

General purpose

  • The primary purpose of this position is to greet and assist customers, park their vehicle, and be a visible representative of the establishment we provide services for. After parking the vehicle, the attendant will run back to their station and be prepared to assist the next patron.

Minimum Requirements:- All Valet Attendants are required to:

  • Be able to drive a standard transmission vehicle to the satisfaction of management

  • Have your own transportation (driving experience)

  • Have experience working in customer service

  • Be over the age of 18 (due to laws about operating heavy machinery)

  • Must have either a High School Diploma or GED

  • License(s) required

  • The general Valet Attendant position requires a valid Class D license to operate a motor vehicle. This license must have been held for at least one year prior to applying.
  • A driving record will be required at the time of application, and it must be approved for the applicant to be considered for a position. The Class D license must be kept in good standing for the duration of employment.

Physical demands

  • Standing at least 8 hours a day

  • Running up to 50 times a day or more

  • Entering and exiting customers vehicles 75 or more times daily

  • Lifting wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, baggage, gifts, etc. (in and out of customers vehicles)

  • Communicate effectively in English with customers and coworkers

Work environment

  • Outdoors for the duration of the shift. Inclement weather (hot, cold, precipitation, etc) will have a significant impact on the employees work environment. Shifts will not be cancelled due to inclement weather and all employees will be required to attend their scheduled shifts, and maintain a high quality of work despite weather conditions.

Please note:

  • All employees must undergo a criminal records check

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays when necessary

  • Must have a neat appearance and good attitude

  • All employees are hired on a 30 day trial period. If during that time the employee does not perform their duties to the satisfaction of management, they can be terminated without cause

  • All employees will train for four shifts. During this time they will not receive tips, but will receive a higher pay rate as compensation

VIEW JOBS 7/16/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-10-14T00:00 At the direction of the Security Operations Manager, assists in coordinating daily activities and operations of the Security Department at Connecticut Children's, including the Team Leads, Visitor Access Associates and Security personnel to assure prompt response to requests for security, safety and related services for staff, patients and visitors. Ensures a highly quality of service is provided by the Security Department to Connecticut Children's patients, families, staff and visitors. Responsible for coordinating the parking, shuttle and valet contracts, correspondence and investigation of complaints. Acts as a liaison between the parking, shuttle and valet companies and the hospital. Position reports to the Security Operations Manager. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: SECURITY OPERATIONS -- At the direction of the Security Operations manager, monitors security calls and ensures a professional response from security personnel. Coordinates preliminary investigations for Security Operations Manager and reports back appropriate information. Attends and provides input to monthly meetings with Team Leads, Security Officers and Visitor Access Associates (VAAs). Covers vacant Security and / or VAA posts. Performs other functions as directed by the Security Operations Manager. PARKING, SHUTTLE AND VALET -- Coordinates the parking, shuttle and valet contracts. Meets with appropriate personnel. Develops and monitors metrics around parking, shuttle and valet services. Investigates and follows-up on complaints involving parking, shuttle and valet services. High School Diploma required, or equivalent. Associates Degree in Business Management, Criminal Justice or Emergency Management preferred. Three to five years security supervision experience preferred. Healthcare security preferred. KNOWLEDGE OF: Working knowledge of relationships that exist between all relevant functional groups within the organization Acts as a subject-matter expert with in-depth knowledge of Healthcare Security and Visitor Access Management Working knowledge of industry related issues Understands how actions affect the organization Knowledge of hospital/departmental emergency procedures for fire, safety, disaster, electrical safety, infection control, and hazardous/toxic materials. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures. SKILLS: Must have excellent management experience and customer service skills. Strong customer service orientation ABILITY TO: Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner to the medical community and hospital staff. Gather data, compile information and prepare reports. Identify analyze and solve problems. Conduct investigative work in a confidential and non-biased manner. Ability to ascertain facts through personal contact and observations and to determine proper course of action PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand for long periods of time Ability to walk long distances Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily works in a Hospital setting along with other locations including office buildings and Connecticut Children's properties.
