Compensation: $18.40 - $24.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Summary:

The Clinical Services Immunization Specialist will assist the organization and perform various office and clinical duties. Primary duties will support immunization efforts at the Corvallis Clinic. May be assigned to work in a variety of outpatient ambulatory care departments.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Participates and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.

  • Provide clinical support in outpatient care setting. Primary duties to support immunization/COVID testing efforts at TCC, will support other clinical duties as assigned.

  • Follows all CDC/OHA and clinic guidelines surrounding testing and immunization administration in both clinical settings and outdoor drive-through settings.

  • Performs immunization services for children and adults, under direct supervision of provider per clinic policy.

  • Participates in orientation and training as required.

  • Actively participate in infection control measures and initiatives.

  • Assist providers with procedures as directed.

  • Organization of supplies and implementation of vaccine storage and handling protocols.

  • Facilitates collection of all necessary information required for patient visits. Accurately record pertinent information in the EHR and ensure necessary patient care documentation is processed and done so in a timely manner.

  • As assigned, may be assigned to provide direct patient care in ambulatory care departments.

  • Improve the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendance/participation in most in-services/department meetings and remaining current on clinic/department policies and procedures.

  • Identifies any potential issues regarding standards of care, and promptly reports them to Clinical Services leadership.

Education/Licensure/Experience:

  • Graduate of a medical assistant program, with active certification as a certified or registered medical assistant (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA) OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) required.

  • One (1) or more years of clinical experience in an ambulatory setting or other clinical setting preferred.

  • Experience working with pediatric and adult populations (recent pediatric immunization experience preferred).

  • Current BLS certification required.

  • OHA VFC & COVID-19 training within one month after hire (previous experience preferred).

  • ALERT IIS Standard-user within one month after hire.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to relate and communicate clearly to the patients and the health care team.

  • Works compatibly with physicians, patients, and other staff.

  • Ability to work independently as well as with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Professional and accurate written and oral communication skills, including telephone-based interactions.

  • Excellent critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent organizational skill and accuracy in work, proficient computer skills.

  • Knowledge of basic clinical skills to provide patient care, including telephone-based care.

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work.
