Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

This is an opportunity to work directly with medical providers, mass immunizer, and outpatient care facilities to immunize identified population to slow/stop the spread of disease. The Vaccine Supply Specialist monitors vaccines supplies and allocations the vaccines to medical providers.

We Require

  • Two years of experience performing administrative and clerical duties

  • High School diploma or GED

  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Experience working with the Arizona State Immunization Information System (ASIIS)

  • Working knowledge of vaccine storage and handling guidelines

  • Experience organizing data in Excel

Job Contributions

  • Manage vaccines that come from multiple funding sources, including VFA, VFC, Bridge, and PPV that include strict guidelines on usage

  • Process vaccine requests from providers and maintain a log of vaccine delivers

  • Ensure that vaccines are properly stored during transport so that the cold chain is maintained at all levels of delivery

  • Assist with maintaining accurate vaccine inventory count in VOM's Reconciliation page for County clinics so that we meet the state's requirements of dose-per-dose accountability

  • Monitor vaccine temperatures for all clinics and vaccine rooms through Sensoscientific application and website

  • Assist with filing and scanning invoices, packing slips, and order forms so all paperwork is readily available if needed

Working conditions

  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire

  • Within one month of hire, all employees will be required to provide evidence of immunity or receive immunizations for vaccine-preventable illnesses for any position within the Maricopa County Department of Public Health; required immunizations include MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Tdap (whooping cough and diphtheria), Varicella (chickenpox), and annual Influenza; some positions require a Hepatitis B vaccine and/or a Tuberculosis test

  • Exerting 20-25 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly

  • Typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
