At Executive Travel Inc., our Vacation Travel Advisors meet with prospective travelers in our Lincoln, NE office. They focus on face to face presentations and relationship building to assist their client in embarking on their journey and to become lifelong clients.

We are looking for an experienced Vacation Travel Advisor to work with us at Executive Travel Inc.! Do you love travel and people? This position is not remote and the position will be in our Lincoln, NE office.

A day in the life of a Vacation Travel Advisor at Executive Travel Inc. may include:

  • Selling our services to prospective clients in person or on the phone.
  • Meeting with clients, developing relationships, building proposals for destinations to meet each clients individual needs.
  • Performing the services to our clients with a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Research and provide solutions to travel-related problems clients may have experienced with arrangements.

  • Are GDS proficient & Apollo preferred
  • Are CRM proficient & ClientBase preferred
  • Are highly productive in a self-directed work environment
  • Have a good sense of geography and workings of the travel industry to understand how to plan trips and construct itineraries.
  • Enjoy customized planning/puzzles
  • Have the ability to communicate with confidence and create a credible impression to clients
  • Are self-motivated; demonstrating initiative with a strong commitment to personal goals, objectives and work ethic
  • Can effectively multi-task while managing time and upholding a professional rapport with clients
  • Possess strong customer-focus and service orientation

Requirements

A vacation travel consultant will make professional, accurate, cost-effective travel arrangements for all clients using preferred vendors, within company guidelines and standards with a focus on excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Selling our services to prospective clients in person or on the phone.
  • Meeting with clients, developing relationships, building proposals for destinations to meet each clients individual needs.
  • Performing the services to our clients with a high level of professionalism at all times.
  • Accurately complete travel arrangements for clients. Utilize preferred vendors to maximize profit for the company.
  • Follow company procedures, guidelines, and standards in the areas of customer service, client relationship management, and promotion/marketing of yourself as well as Executive Travel.
  • Relationship maintenance with clients after the sale is complete, prior to travel and post-travel.
  • Participate fully as a team member to assist as needed in completing all functions related to servicing the client and the operations of the Vacation Department.
  • Research and provide solutions to travel-related problems clients may have experienced with arrangements.
  • Is fully informed and stays abreast of all airline rules and regulations, tariffs (domestic), and other industry requirements and accurately applies this information when making travel arrangements.
  • Keeps up to date with preferred supplier offerings.
  • Attend staff and training meetings for ongoing updates in the travel industry and office procedures.
  • Keep Vacation Team Leader or superior promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternative courses of action which may be taken.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • Help cover front desk (receptionist) phone duties and other duties when asked.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Be able to effectively communicate in person, via telephone and email
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Effective Sales Skills including the ability to create and present proposals
  • Reliable attendance is an essential function of this position

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a vacation travel consultant preferred.
  • Travel Experience to foreign countries preferred.
  • Current GDS experience (Apollo preferred)
  • Current CRM experience (CleintBase preferred)
