Job Description: & Qualifications

Lead or support the invention and creation of new enabling technologies, features, or systems for use in Ford Motor Company Global Connected Vehicle applications. The selected candidate will work with partners across the company and industry to progress, mature and validate vehicle to Everything (V2X) concepts and applications with focus on cellular technologies (Cellular-V2X).


  • Work with advanced engineering teams (e.g. research and basic design) to develop and maintain V2X product specifications

  • Develop use cases and user stories that include but are not limited to infrastructure, vulnerable road users and the network edge

  • Develop user requirements, performance targets and acceptance criteria

  • Collaborate and support product teams to identify features and verification methods to deliver user requirements and performance targets

  • Collaborate and support basic design and research teams in developing system V2X solution architectures

  • Support V2X product backlog management and manage work plans

  • Support collaboration with road infrastructure stakeholders (road operators and technology providers) to drive deployment of vehicle-to-infrastructure capability consistent with Ford's V2X strategy

  • Lead collaboration with cellular industry ecosystem to address needs of vulnerable road users (e.g. vehicle-to-pedestrian, vehicle-to-bicycle, vehicle-to-motorcycle )

  • Conduct competitive and technology benchmark studies to understand evolving V2X landscape

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ year of experience with feature ownership
  • 1+ year of experience with feature definition
  • 1+ year of experience with program management or supplier management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) technologies

  • Demonstrated experience interfacing with a cross-functional team including suppliers

  • Collaboration skills to coach and lead technology providers and transportation stakeholders as required
