The UX writer & analyst crafts clear, concise, and accessible copy and user-interface text for reed.edu. As part of this work, this role conducts research, builds analytics reports, and creates solutions based on user feedback. This role works with cross functional teams in the office of public affairs and with academic and administrative partners across campus. This position reports to the Director of Web & Digital Strategy. This is not a remote position.

The starting salary range for this position is $72,000 - $77,000. Offers are based on experience and are determined through an internal pay assessment. This is an exempt position on grade 7.

What You'll Do

  • Write and revise content for web pages owned by administrative offices and academic departments.

  • Write calls to action, meta descriptions, labels, and other interface text.

  • Proofread and edit copy created by content producers following the rules of grammar and our in-house style guide.

  • Align web content with Reed's voice and match the tone of each office or department.

  • Conduct research on our site's analytics, user preferences and behaviors, comparative research, and trends.

  • Build data reports for teams and stakeholders and participate in strategic decision-making based on the data.

  • Use tools to evaluate and revise content strategy: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Keyword Planner, Keywords Everywhere, Answer the Public, SEOQuake, SERP Preview Tool, and other applicable applications.

  • Create content solutions based on user feedback, usability testing, and metrics.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across campus, maintaining a cooperative, knowledgeable approach.

  • Provide guidance to content producers based on data, our digital strategy, and best practice.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, certification in UX/UI writing, or relevant work experience

  • Three (3) years of experience working as a user experience writer or researcher or a combination of both, and

  • Three (3) years of experience working with a content management system
