As a UX Researcher at Podium, you will have a deep understanding of the customer, identify pain-points, goals, and develop solutions and ideas to address them. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to establish consistent user research methodologies and processes. What You Will Do:

  • Build out user testing methodologies, mentor, and facilitate user research best practices across product, design, and engineering

  • Be a champion of user research for the company

  • Distribute and communicate research findings across departments

  • Create user flows and journey maps to help define clear pathways and establish consistent behaviors to help customers achieve their goals.

  • Generate insights that will influence not just the usability of a feature, but long-term product strategy as well.

What You Should Have:

  • Understanding of multiple user research methods and when to use them.

  • The ability to conduct research at tactical and long-term strategic levels.

  • Have a proven track record of applying user research, with the ability to interpret results into actionable analysis.

  • Ability to effectively present and explain your work to multiple audiences

  • Ability to promote collaboration and integrate new ideas into your work

  • Effectively work across a large organization with multiple divisions and enhance research communication, findings, and conclusions.

  • 2-5 years of user research industry experience. Bachelor Degree in HCI, Human Behavior/Psychology, or UX related.

To support our long-term strategy to create and lead a new category of enterprise SaaS software, we are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to come start, lead, and grow the UX Research discipline at Workfront. We view UX research as a core end-to-end activity that helps drive product strategy, design, innovation, and excellence across the product portfolio. This person will uncover insights into who users are, what they currently experience, and what they truly need. This person will guide product teams in applying the most effective approach for achieving research goals and will help them work together to arrive at actionable user insights. The Senior UX Researcher will be well-versed in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, experienced in planning and conducting studies, and focused on delivering insights that directly inform product roadmaps. The right candidate will be creative and strategic in approaching research, passionate about helping people, and highly collaborative. You should have a proven track record of championing the voice of the customer—generating user insights, translating insights into feature requirements, conducting rigorous evaluations, and communicating findings to stakeholders. This position demands an individual that is organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven. Strategic thinking and creativity are critical attributes. Highly polished visual and verbal presentation skills are a must. People love to work with you and learn from you. Responsibilities * Define and drive both qualitative and quantitative user data gathering efforts to effectively inform planning, design, and development of Workfront products. * Collaborating with product teams to define research goals and identify target users. * Developing a research approach and detailed study plan. * Creating research materials including screeners, guides, and scripts. * Build and maintain a research roadmap and a regular cadence of gathering user data * Drive the process of defining a set of criteria to measure effectiveness, satisfaction, and engagement of and with Workfront products. * Evolve the Workfront job stories over time. * Set up practices for recruiting participants, attending usability sessions, and accessing usability research recommendations. * Mentor other UX and Product team members around effective qualitative and quantitative user data gathering methods. * Helping product teams stay focused by advocating for users. * Inspire the company at all levels to gather better user data and to act on it appropriately. Basic Qualifications * 7+ years success leading user research projects with demonstrated impact * Strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g. study plans, reports). * Full spectrum experience with all aspects of research, including study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting. * Hands-on experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods—including ethnographic field research, lab and remote usability testing, rapid iterative testing and evaluation, and participatory design. * Experience testing on a variety of devices, including mobile and desktop. * Strong understanding of quantitative data analysis and statistics. * Exceptional behavioral data-collection and analysis skills. * Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively across diverse audiences at various levels of an organization. * BS or equivalent degree in human computer interaction, cognitive psychology, or similar. * Proven track record of leading research and collaborating with other teams to discover insights, identify unmet needs, and craft better products. * Exceptional at empathic listening, perceiving users' needs, delivering an unbiased view of users, and translating user insights into action items for product teams. * Knowledgeable about usability and principles of effective design. * Passion for understanding what drives user behavior and a love for diving into complex user research problems. * Extensive experience working closely with UX Design, Product, and Engineering teams on gathering and implementation of research recommendations. Preferred qualifications * Advanced degree in human computer interaction, cognitive psychology, or similar. * Exceptional behavioral data-collection and analysis skills, e.g., designing, conducting, and analyzing all kinds of user data. * Extensive end-to-end experience with all aspects of usability research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting). * Experience with SaaS enterprise applications. * You have a portfolio that includes examples of leading strategic research with significant business outcomes.
