UX Researcher / Operations Coordinator (Contract)

San Diego, CA

The UX Researcher / Operations Coordinator (Contract) is responsible for two separate, yet complimentary, functions on the UX Research team: A. Supporting the team with coordination of projects and operations, B. Assisting with UX Research projects.

First and foremost, you will be responsible for coordinating operations to ensure successful team utilization of external vendors. As an ideal candidate, you are experienced with operational control of research related activities and monitoring budget.

These activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with lead project researchers to submit RFP's

  • Aid in properly selecting vendors and adhering to related processes/tools

  • Manage Statements of Work and related processes/tools

  • Manage Purchase Orders and related processes/tools

  • Manage contracts, invoicing and related processes/tools

  • Create and maintain documentation of key tasks and processes

  • Maintain system which gives visibility of all outstanding spend

  • Report monthly KPIs

Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting in the execution of UX research. In this role you let your passion shine by consistently advocating for user needs and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to implement the best solutions to user problems. You have an excellent understanding of the UX Design process, principles and patterns, and technological capabilities/limitations.

These activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, preparing, and executing key components of end-to-end UX Research - from foundational research to inform product direction, all the way to concept and usability testing.

  • Logistics

  • Moderation and Observation

  • Transcription

  • Creating video clips

  • Recruiting participants

  • Ensuring that research deliverables are high quality and meet the established standards and guidelines and go beyond "bullet points".

  • Manage communication with stakeholders, including designers, product managers, project managers and engineers inside various divisions.

  • Helping to maintain a recruitment database of past, present, and prospective participants

  • Act as the point of contact for our UX Research Labs


  • Minimum BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, Psychology, UX Design, related field or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of relevant UX Research and Operations experience

  • Proven track record of managing contracts, invoices, and budget related processes/tools

  • A robust understanding of industry-standard UX research methods

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build and sustain internal and external partnerships

  • Knowledge of, and passion for gaming, media and software industries is a big plus

This position is responsible for all operational and administrative activities for company owned tax offices. This position may support multiple District Managers in a matrix management structure. This role may also manage Messenger and/or Custodian labor. This individual must have a strong ability to deliver executable results that will enable the company to achieve strategic business objectives. Specific areas of support include, but are not limited to, adjusting labor staffing and scheduling, coordination of office set up and shut down, leadership of labor command center to coordinate staffing shortfalls/overflow and ensuring all supplies are available to district offices. What you'll do… * Makes adjustments to labor staffing and scheduling of district and provide reporting to District General Managers and Company Support Managers * Maintaining the asset management inventory. * Make adjustments to office hours to ensure they are consistent with company guidelines. * Coordinate the set up and shut down of all offices for the assigned districts. * Coordinate with landlord, facilities to ensure office standards are consistently being met. * Manage the centralization of supply ordering and distribution * Management of messenger and custodian to support office upgrades, delivery of supplies or other activities to help the operational support of tax office * Assign non-returning/moving tax pros clients to other Tax Pros based on expertise (i.e. client matching) * Local coordination of a national contract for cleaning of offices, coffee, water or other office amenities. This includes agreement with Iron Mountain for the storage and retrieval of tax documents * Attends district meetings to observe and participate in the meeting. Will coordinate Town halls along with planning end of year recognition events and other district wide activities (e.g. OL Conventions) * Will provide administrative support to District leadership and District staff as necessary What you'll bring to the role… * 3-5 years of operational experience in retail, service or similar work environment. * This individual must have strong ability to deliver executable results that will enable the company to achieve it's strategic business objectives * Must have a strong leadership background and knowledge of how to handle problems quickly and efficiently * This position requires excellent communication and logistical planning skills with a proven ability to coordinate activities within a matrix management structure * Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively work under strict deadlines, while organizing multiple priorities * Demonstrated ability to research and summarize operational data for use in managerial decisions * Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision at various times * Good verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills * Understanding and previous use of a Windows-based computer system and applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; and PowerPoint.
