Requirements
What we're looking for a Interaction Designer ? 3-5+ years of experience with interactive product design, design planning, and/or strategic consulting for Fortune 500 companies or large e-commerce sites ? Demonstrable knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash and After Effects ? Experience scripting in basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript ? Bachelor's degree in HCI or equivalent experience with information architecture as well as interaction design and information design ? Proven track record for managing complex projects within larger organizations with a mature user centered design methodology ? As a User Experience (UX) Designer at AvidXchange, you will work collaboratively to help design data intensive SaaS applications. You will work with a group of passionate product leaders to design best in class customer experiences. We're looking for someone that has the talent to design intuitive interfaces for complex interaction patterns and elegantly communicate large amounts of data. We have a diverse and growing product line, so the ability to balance competing design interests while creating a cohesive and seamless, end-to-end experience is necessary. You will contribute to many of the design process including design thinking, conceptual exploration, prototyping, UI design, interaction flows and are expected to contribute design validation activities. You need to feel comfortable participating in cross-functional design review sessions and user feedback sessions with various stakeholders, as well as other members of the customer experience and product teams. Job Responsibilities Job Duties: * User Research –Participate in feedback sessions with customers. * Create appropriate recruitment screener for each study to ensure the recruit matches target demographics. * Create well-written deliverables that provide succinct, and actionable insights. * Utilize remote, unmoderated usability test platforms (usertesting.com, or similar) to rapidly turn around concurrent tests. * Facilitate moderated usability test sessions. * Analyze and determine the appropriate research methodology and develop research/test plans to achieve stakeholder goals. * Employ a variety of test methodologies such as Standard Usability Testing, Comparative Testing, Contextual Inquiry, Rapid Iterative Testing, Prototype Testing, Concept Validation, Card-Sorting, Benchmarking. * Conduct research across multiple platforms, and cross-channel: desktop, tablet, mobile and native apps. * Participate in contextual inquiry research, such as diary studies and others to understand different user journeys through different products. * Requirements Gathering – Collaborate with Product management and stakeholders to prioritize features and functions and translate stakeholder needs into clear research objectives. * Wireframing / Prototyping – Create and defend designs the achieve user's needs. * Interaction Design – Create, improve and maintain complex user interfaces. * Design System – Contribute to, promote and leverage our design system. * Artifact Creation – Participate in the creation of user flows, process diagrams, company and user personas, etc. Areas of Impact: * Work results have the ability to influence short-term tactical decisions. * Sets day-today objectives and delivers job responsibilities that impact areas that are directly linked to own job (immediate team). * Output is reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy. Experience and Qualifications Experience: * A minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience is typically required to perform at expectation. * BS or MS in Interaction Design, Cognitive Sciences, HCI, or equivalent experience. * Portfolio of user interfaces or software design examples. User flows, research summaries, personas or process examples a must. Technical Skills: * Responsive design and mobile considerations. * Experience in Axure, Sketch, Adobe Software, InVision, UserTesting.com or equivalent. * Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS – Advanced experience a PLUS. Competencies: * Proficiency in evaluating user interactions and identifying opportunities to improve the digital user experience. * Self-starter, with proven track record of managing time and prioritizing work load with minimum supervision. * Clear written and effective verbal communication skills, and excellent presentation skills. * Great cross-functional collaborator!
