UX Product Design Researcher
Location: Creve Coeur, MO
Duration: 1 year with possible contract to hire/possible extension
Were a passionate and highly-collaborative team of product designers working closely with engineers, product managers, and platform leads to research, explore, and iterate on well-crafted user experiences that are innovative, engaging and delightful. We build consensus around our work in everyday interactions through design reviews, workshops, user testing, and presentations to influence the direction of a product, and to inspire the company as a whole.
Candidate is a natural problem solver and design researcher who loves a good challenge. Candidate also know that the first answer is rarely the best answer. Candidate have a ton of empathy and care about understanding the users needs and wants. Candidate always come to the table with more than one option, thoughtfully exploring different directions and how they impact the users experience. Candidate can articulate design choices and strategy in a way thats easily understood by team members and stakeholders from different global organizations.
Envision state of the art solutions and identify new opportunities to improve users experience (UX) and overall delight of our platform in partnership with POs, designers, and others
Coordinate and conduct appropriate user experience techniques to enable advanced product visions
Collaboratively define journey maps to provide priority input for R&D research platform pillar initiatives
Identify and collaborate on story boards, workflows, and other high level conceptualization materials
Contribute to strategic meetings and decisions with the product management teams
Serve as an ambassador for Product Design within the org and in the broader design community
Make design recommendations via wireframes based on research and expertise
Express concepts through powerful visuals and tangible form
Encourage and uphold high standards for our product experiences
2-3+ years of experience in product design and UX research
A sample of past design research project is required
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Passionate about human-centered design (HCD)
The belief that collaboration makes for a better product and culture
BS degree in Human-Centered Design, Industrial Design, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or related area. A masters degree is preferred
Past experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry is preferred
Long standing team of 40+ designers, researchers, and architects.
Bachelors is required but a Masters is preferred.
Ability to translate business strategy into tangible IT product capabilities through HCD process.
