The UX Designer role is part of a cross functional team that support NM IS, healthcare departments and NM Marketing in developing easy-to-use applications and technology services. This role will translate user experience concepts into practical, workable, and testable concepts that deliver the simplicity our patients, care givers and employees desire.


  • Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to recognize workflows and find ways to improve UX through usability, findability, screen designs and user interface specifications.

  • Define and refine customer personas and user types, interaction models, scenarios and tasks, as well as conceptual models and process flows.

  • Convert business requirements into UI specifications, using tools such as sitemaps, paper prototypes or wireframes, user interfaces, screen mock-ups and style guidelines.

  • Support UAT process for all features and functions delivered within through the service line.

  • Participate in customer feedbacksessions, testing, analysis, and synthesis of findings as appropriate.

  • Stay current on industry trends and tools, especially related to core platforms.



Requirements Required:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required.

  • Three to seven years experience in core discipline.

  • Knowledge of user interface design, information design, usability principles, and web design.

  • Demonstrated ability to create and leverage requirements assets such as use cases, wireframes, prototypes and presentations.

  • Experience incorporating insights from user research into the user interface design process.

  • Familiarity with web and mobile technologies and ways they impact work practices.

  • Proficiency in industry tools, such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Visio or Axure. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.


  • Experience within Healthcare

  • Experience with Epic EMR or related tools such as MyChart

  • Experience working with mobile devices and technologies, including: iOS, Android, iPad.

The ideal candidate has experience across many user-centered design disciplines and is highly knowledgeable about the latest interaction, design standards and accessibility compliances. * An expert of universal design principles, design with accessibility guidelines in mind, and advocate across teams. * Collaborate with UX and UI team members, product owners, developers to understand business needs and product requirements. * Translate user needs and product requirements into conceptual diagrams, user flows, sketches, wireframes, and prototypes. * Develop sound UX concepts, including the definition of customer needs, task analysis, and the creation of personas, scenarios and use cases. * Deliver effective documentation and communication of design - via journey mapping, ecosystem, and high-quality wireframes with detailed annotation. * Collaborate, support (interactive prototypes) and participate (interview/ note taking) in UX research to learn, analyze and synthesize customer's pain points. * Mentor junior UX designers on design process, techniques, and solutions. * Bachelor degree in Design, HCI, or related fields. * Minimum of 3 years of experience in UX design for consumer-facing Internet company, e-commerce experience preferred. * Online portfolio demonstrating your ability to understand and solve complex problems is a must. * Familiar with Jira and Confluence, able to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced, agile environment. * Plays well and thrives in collaboration with other teams. * Expert knowledge of Sketch, Axure, Adobe CS or similar tools. * Experience conducting accessibility evaluations and usability testing. * Clear understanding of WCAG 2.1 requirements and industry best practices around accessibility/inclusive design. * IAAP CPACC or WAS Certification is a plus. * Experience in prototyping animations and interactions a plus. * Experience with analytical tools and A|B testing methodologies is a plus.
